May is and has been a movement party wise and now not much more than another
kind of movement. Yes she could get drunk but she needs to have class like Sir
John A he was drunk in the House many times no one knew according to records
I think it just wasn't recorded.
May reminds me of junk politics she is critical of Conservatives yet the Greens are
more Conservative they would have us all on bikes and walking and I am not in favour
of that for a minute

Cliffy is right, May spoke more truth in that speech than has come out of Ottawa for years. She's got "balls" and over the long haul she will reap more benefit than harm from that speech. :) :)

Even Elizabeth May has agreed that she did not speak the truth if you read her followups. Assuming she was not lying when she was sober (and I tend to believe her in her followups), it means that you and Cliffy are as usual out on left field all by yourselves.

The issue with me has never been the level of her sobriety, which is pretty hard to put a number to at this point, but just the fact she spoke the truth!

Finally a party leader says what she thinks.

You're right on there, Corduroy! :)

Not a believable excuse. Regardless, she is in the public eye and if she has some predilection for saying really stupid things when she is tired, she might want to consider not engaging herself formally when she feels too tired

and more so you savages, she apoligized for her actions, let it be!

That was the only smart thing she did... Doesn't change the fact that what she said was reprehensible

What she said was the truth. Drunks tell the truth because they have lost their inhibitions, it takes a sober person to lie through their teeth. Harpo and his gang of thugs are without integrity, a bunch of lying scumbags one and all. They have no interest whatsoever in the interests of Canadians or Canada. They are only interested in making their rich friends and themselves richer at everybody else's expense. Heave Steve and his gang of thugs.

As far as Ms. May goes it's all a moot point. She'll never be Prime Minister, she'll never be leader of the opposition, she'll never be a cabinet minister or a senator!

The sad part is there is no one fit to replace him!

They said the NDP would never take Alberia either but they did. Never say never. Always expect the unexpected. Drunk or not, she told the truth and although Canadians are not used to it, it may have got her more brownie points than the Harperites can imagine. I truly believe that the whole world is about to be dumped on its head this year. I won't be surprised at anything.

Stranger things have happened, but with Alberta several things came into play at the opportune moment. 1. Rachel Notley is credible with most people & had quite a back ground in politics. 2. Alison Redford is a pariah and detested by most common people, 3. Jim Prentice is "yesterday's man". 4. Conservative were well past their "best before date" and people were wanting a change. 5. The electorate was getting desperate with Oil going in the tank. Don't see Lizzy being quite as lucky any time soon.

This will go down with Kennedy's "Ask not" quote as one of the greatest of all time. - Mike Rilstone

Much as I'd like to balance off the "red" with a "green", Cliffy, I can't quite agree that this speech will match the longevity of the one made by J.F.K.............................................but I've been wrong before!

If May is a hopeless drunk, that's her problem.

As for 'the truth' - you really should caveat that statement to state that it is your truth and not necessarily reality

That's right. Raitt led May away from the stage gently and nicely, just as an old friend might.

Raitt watching May make a fool of herself and trying to help doesn't change the fact that May damaged herself with her ill chosen rant.

We'll see what the voters in her riding think of her 'being over tired' come the next election

"A week is a long time in Politics"- In the great scheme of things after 5 months that indiscretion (if that's even what it was) will be forgiven if not completely forgotten.
