I'm not worried about AB's economy, we don't have $267 billion in debt.

... Not a very rosy picture for you though... I'd expect some really big tax increases coupled with having gvt services cut to the bone

They are cutting healthcare staff left right and center. A true sign of a stable economy.

I am not a conservative so I really couldn't give a carp.

It's you guys who are stewards of the economy that are in denial about oil lol

Seriously.

It's not a big deal.

I was simply commenting that it would be unrealistic to believe that I would be bitter about you having such a massive debt... I understand that it even eclipses the debt of California on a per capita basis.

That is saying something as the State of CA has a GDP that ranks in the top 10 in the world and is comparable to entire nations.

On that note, denial is a river in Egypt

More spending will solve everything. Nothing beats high interest debt when you have AA- to borrow money for renewable tulip factories.

yup... how dare anyone point out the failed strategy Harper and supporters tied themselves to. And what's with that Alberta Premier guy talking about a 10-year diversification plan? What's the deelio there... why get off that repeat "Boom & Bust" cycle? That's crazy talk!

How is Canada a better country without the ability to produce oil if it gets too expensive?

no intelligent knowledgeable person speaks to a complete divestment from fossil-fuels... even within a typical 40-50 year roadmap undertaking... you're simply choosing to leverage the ready-reach strawman. It's called sustainable development for a reason... something that Harper Conservatives choose to ignore/negate.

So resources economy is unsustainable. And we can't compete in manufacturing. What will we export?
