The Canada First Defence Strategy, the centrepiece of the Conservative government’s long-term vision for the military, was unveiled with much fanfare in May 2008 and promised to invest $490 billion in new equipment and upgrades over the next 20 years.
Are you asking something?Like a hi-tech hot one? Not without is spilling out all over. I can't see Russia letting a passenger jet get sabotaged so it doesn't get a share of the world market either. If Syria could show that foreign military forces were helping the opposition they could ask Russia for support including troops which means they can do whatever to protect those 'guests'.
If the planes weren't our contribution to NATO then what would our commitment be if it came a long drawn out affair. Syria isn't awash in resources so is it a 'swing nation' as far as other objectives is concerned. After the Germans got the coal in Poland the conquered France, was that so the has access to the open oceans which is what a shipping nation would need. Does Syria fit that model that a large scale war would be fought?
The purchase price is about 1% of what a war like that would cost if you were wondering what grabbed my attention and a quick question doesn't need a thread.
“Inattention to production quality” had led to the discovery of a potentially serious issue with an aperture on the plane that was critical to its electronic warfare capability, the report said. The full extent of the problem was not known, but it underscored the need for the Pentagon and Lockheed to “rigorously manage production quality,” it said.
Overtake missiles? Captain Kirk, maybe....
Not a problem you really want with one of the most complex aircraft ever built, we should run not walk away from this hanger queen.
Another reason to demand a re-election from the pricks who stole the last one in Canada.
Are they for domestic only consumption or are they part of an international agreement, at any price. no weapons as they are supplied in certain conditions, air-frame and support crews only. Are you asking something?
Recall...conservatives stole the last election...lol
Do you see why I find humor when some Canadians say that Canadian Libs are much different than US Libs? This is text book US Liberal jargon.
We could try at least to see if a third choice would be better,it can't be worse that this tennis game between the two old corrupt parties.I'm not a Liberal, they were crooks too.
And yes there was election theft by the Conservatives in the last election.

Being an American in todays world I can see how you think real democracy is a joke, as a Canadian I'd kind of like to hold on to more than just the illusion of a real choice when it comes to PMs, MPs, and MLAs.

Also it does not help if some base their choice by saying "My dad voted for them,my grand father voted for them also,my great grand father bla bla bla" and so on,it won't change if thats how people vote.
Plus Canada helped design it. Canada has skin in the game already.

Yeah, we designed the wooden wheels. lol
Our nutters, as you can see, are identical as well.I don't think it is a joke... we're a Republic at any rate.
My point was that Canadians and Americans are so much alike politically.

I hope you get it sorted out for all our sakes and I hope we start massively rejecting the Conservative Party here who seem to have adopted some of the worst aspects of US politics like endlessly attacking opponents instead of offering real leadership and bending the truth until it almost breaks.
From what was reported, there was no discussion,Harper and his a** lickers decided to buy these toys,an allege multi-purpose aiicraft is not needed if its gonna be used for only one of these purpose, instead of thinking faster, they should think "returning to base intact or semi intact.Just about anything on this planet is unaffordable, and every discussion about buying things on a massive scale comes with a discussion about how to pay for it and what the risks might be financially. I would be shocked if the access to information files showed nothing discussed. A working government isn't just a bunch of people telling each other what they want to hear. It needs opinions from all sides. In the end they're all opinions. No one has a pure fiscal crystal ball.
