My husband had to leave work when he was 60, WCB recommendations, as his hand had
become 'aggravated arthritus', so he collected early retirement, as well as WCB monthly pension, and
hasn't looked back since.
He was a sawfiler, used a very heavy hammer for many years, it finally took it's toll on his
hand.
We now wonder how he had the time to work, as we are so busy every day, having fun
and golfing, and driving all over the place, lunch out, not so many trips any more, as fuel
prices are too high.
His hand hurts all the time, he takes tylenol 3 everyday, slight help, but he has learned to live with that pain, and on he goes.
No one else tells us what to do 8 hours a day, we decide our own activities and love it.
We don't have to be anywhere at a certain time, don't have an alarm clock, forget often what day it is, don't have to do things on the week end, in fact we avoid driving/trips on the weekend, and go when it is safer and less crowded.
We do know people who 'seem' to pack it in when they retire, I feel so sorry for them, they have no interests other than going to work, and they don't seem to like each other
much either.
