A Mouse Once Bit My Sister
I wanted to go NDP but when Mulcair started to drop, I had to weigh the options of going with my first choice or making that sacrifice for the 'greater good'.

I'm curious... Were the (important) policies between the NDP and Libs close enough that your decision to vote Lib was still in your wheelhouse?

We still have an illegitimate majority by real voting standards though.

It is what it is... It's the system we have for good or bad.

There was an earlier discussion on Prop Rep and for as many problems it solves, it brings up a raft of others.

There will never be a system that will make everyone entirely happy AND can operate the gvt on a reasonably efficient basis.

Yes the Liberals did enough to 'court the left' I think and that's why it was easy for people to make the switch if either party went down.

Now whether or not they keep any of these look promises is another matter but they do have a majority to work with.

I will enjoy the occasional Mcsquinty reference if I see this is smoke and mirrors.

It doesn't matter who is in the lead, there is always room for criticism.

The Liberals had no seats to lose in Quebec so the focus was on the NDP there.

That broke the tie and that's when the whole country (including Quebec) started to move toward the Liberals.

You hit the nail on the head, Mulcair was milquetoast-esque in the final stretch.

The television ads I saw of him showed him smiling, accommodating and pleasant.... Not that I would have voted for him, but I much preferred his previous rant-'n-raving style of aggressiveness... He was somewhat unrecognizable

Actually I think Mulehair was stupid down the stretch. On Sunday he was raving away on the radio about being the best party to beat Stephen Harper, when it was very obvious Jr. was a good 10% ahead of him already. Who the f**k can win a fight when they can't even recognize who their main enemy is?
