A truly trollish remark. Your post history obviously marks you as a fundie christian zealot with zero regard for others personal spiritual path. Perhaps a word to the mods on your trolling would be in order.

signed Practicing Pagan

You know a Pagan just means a country dweller right Rom?

Not just. The origin of the word is, yes, a country dweller as opposed to a town or city dweller. And I do know that this came about due to the fact christians at first were the majority in urban areas and that worship of Jesus of Nazareth only slowly spread to trural areas. The sword and flame were prime means of conversion too.

since I've ruled out Islam, Judaism or christianity as proper religions, I think I'm probably an athiest....

although, this is interesting, and you'll know a bit of it if u watched the da vinci code...did you know in judaism there were originally 2 gods?..male and female?...but what they didnt teach you was that the male and female were originally the despotic king of judea and his queen?......

very similar to the emperor worship of Japan, and because the three main religions come from quasi emperor worship, and not one god throughout it's history as we are told, I think we can completly class it out.

which REALLY screws up our muslim and christian extremist friends doesnt it.

Last year when I was looking for something to discribe my way of believing, I was having a really hard time, until I met this group here in Virginia. I went to Beltane and met these beautiful eclectic group of men and woman. It was a calming nurturing encompassing weekend of like minded people. I asked the priestess what they called themselves. She said that each person practiced a different belief system. Druidism, mystic christianity, solitary wiccans, shamanism, even buddists. She told me that it all fell under Paganism an earth based belief system.

When I went to England and celebrated Summer Solstice with a circle there I asked again.....what do you call yourselves? Again I was in a circle of ecclectic beliefs and again with caution I was told it is called Paganism based on the fact that they practice earth based beliefs. I was also schooled that Pagan is a cross word with some and a swear. I was told it was just best to clain Wicca or Druidism while I was on the Isle. So for the rest of the trip I just didnt offer and noone asked.

In the beginning was the Word and the Word was God. WRONG. In the beginning was God the Word followed, hence the different words for god. Odin, Buddha, Gaia, Allah, Jehovah. There is only one god. At the moment of the big bang something, some guiding principle decided how the universe would develop and how we would perceive it. That something was god. All the other stuff are creations of man. In our attempt to understand the mind of god we put names to him/her/it. In our superiority we think if we name it we have conquered it and now know it. All the different names we give to god are based on local belief systems and folk lore passed down through the years. It is all an attempt to know God and reach the high ideals we give our gods. Wether you give god the aspects of humility and self sacrifice of the Judeo-Christian god, the power and majesty of the Norse and Germanic Odin/Woden or the quiet contemplation of the Buddha it's all the same. We strive to know the mind of that which caused us to be brought forth into this world and mimic that power.

The Judeo-christian god was originally a Canaanite storm god. This article talks about the duality of the christian god and a male and female root.

Another good article on the origin of the J/c god.

I think Ive said it to Dex, I know Ive said it to Les in the Imbloc thread, that my Goddess and my God personify the qualities in myself I cherish, the qualities I want to magnify. Its the first time in my whole life I feel at ease with my belief and hense with myself. My deities Love me no matter what. I could commit suicide and they would still accept me in Summerland. All the more for me to live to experience a gift so great as my deities give me.

It hurts my feeling when people damn me for living Love. It confuses me why any God would damn me. Im a good person a kind soul a child of the Universe.

That's the whole issue. "God" would not damn you. His followers might but "God" would not. I don't care what some book written hundreds of years after the main charcter is duly executed by lawful means and even longer ago says. The J/c god is one of compassion, humility and kindness (in theory). How his followers misinterpret his ways is their isue not yours. "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone", shame they don't take that point literally and to heart.

Enough of this dead carpenter follower slagging.

Making a big dent in my freezer trying to whittle it's contents down. Had a bag of half shell mussels in there for months. Cooked up first batch the other day. Still kicking, so no food poisoning from under cooked shellfish. Will steam up the rest tonight. I'm getting hooked on my quick spicy rice recipe. Was supposed to supplement potatoes in recipe not replace. Went to a cool Wine and Food show last weekend. A relatively cheap piss up. 10$ to get in but wine and mead was about 2$ a glass, 3.50$ for a double shot of 15 year old scotch, gourmet food tasters for 3.50$. A couple of glasses of wine, mead, beer and a double scotch and woo hoo. Was able to duck working Sat. night cause I was loaded. May have to take up drinking more if it gives me an excuse to not cover some drunk who can't be bothered to show up for work. They are supposed to call by 1pm so I can cover if they are not coming in. They usually call about 6pm. If I trust the guy calling in to be responsible and not yanking me in to work cause he wants to get drunk or is too hung over to work, I will cover as it is my job to.

When my freezer is empty I will buy a vacuum sealer and try again to stock it with tasty healthy goodies.

Personally I don't like wine at all. Taste like Koolaid left in the sun. The Mead was a bit better. Maybe as a shooter. I very rarely drink. Coors Lite, Jagermeister and whiskey with water. A 12 pack in my fridge last a couple of months. Whiskey is for upnorth fishing trips mixed with lake water. jagermeister when I actuall intend to get drunk, maybe 4 times a year. This weekend it sort of snuck up on me one sip at a time. Still can't tell the difference between a 3$ bottle of wine and a 30$ bottle. I prefer cheaper scotches too, not single malts, usually Johnnie Walker Red Label. Coors Lite is just that light and watery.

I prefer to smoke dope but lately have been entertaining the idea of quitting that too.

One of the satanic holidays..

Sent this guy a PM stating my objections to what I considered to be a trollish remark and got back the usual close minded ignorant comment that it's not his problem if I follow a religion inspired by Satan and that this is a free country. Why is it all the bigots fall back on that "This is a free country and I can say what I want"? I sometimes think these folks are laughable and deluded. Oh well, yet another on the ignore list.

Its only a free country if its their freedom to attack another thats at stake. I dont care who worships what as long as I recieve the same. It aint going to happen. Extremists will always hunt us and I guess thats just part of our learning isnt it.

Had broiled lamb chop last night. At the wine and food show picked up a garlic curry. Tried it on my rice last night. Not bad but too much ginger for my liking. Will stick with the curry powder I have and add garlic to it. The garlic curry is Manitoulin Island brand. A small local maker on Manitoulin Island. Their pineapple ginger chutney is good though.

I LOVE Lamb but Ginger is not my friend lol very tiny bits is all I can take. The chicken soup is gone, not bad for a week. I think I'll treat myself tonight with shrimp. I'll prolly make a sauce with Basalmic vinager, lemon juice and EVOO. Its been a long day and it took hours to get to sleep last night. Im quite interested in what theyll learn on the sleep study.
