Found another underwater shot for viewing

The determination for the win was that the rules for Butterfly are: TWO hands touching the pad simultaneously - which Phelps managed and Cavic did not.

LOL teasing you Quandary - one of the posters on YouTube said the people who thought
Phelps won were gay.... haha.... such an insult! Now that's really diggin for humor...but thought I'd pass it along ..haha

Thanks for the video i just watched it ,man that was dam close ,i must admit,to me now that i saw it it looked like Phelps won..

That was good of you to see the arguments posited.

Olymics aren't always scored by numbers from obvious success such as in volleyball or tennis or soccer. Much of the Olympic event scoring causes conflict because it
is judgmental done by a collection of representatives from nations and when humans get into the scoring mix, we introduce subjective and emotional reaction. There has to be some bias because we aren't made of stone.

Unless there is a line to cross - a height to be met or broken - a ball or other object to be placed for measurement, we are at the mercy of a system of judging which opens the door to controversy.

Don't forget some of Phelps medals were won within a team event and he would be the
first to point that out. I think he is a refreshing athlete who truly believes in the concept
of the games, meeting people from all over the world and represents his nation well.

Phelps lacked a father in his upbringing and while his mother is a great adoring fan, I think because he was handicapped by ADHD, he sought activities in which he could control his focus and attention span. He also benefited from having surrogate fathers and role models in his coaches along the way.

Swimming was one sport he could perform well in because he had a certain limitation of area in which to function. He also enjoyes playing catcher position in baseball because he was enclosed in a defined bit of real estate for which he was responsible behind the batter.

Anyone who can beat any disability gets my personal gold star.

Dont get me wrong Curiosity as others here do ,if i feel that a valid point or argument proves what i know to be false, i will and do decline my position from the original standpoint,in view of the evidence shown,in this case now that i have seen the footage with my own eyes, i can fully accept that i was wrong, it was a close call but i do believe that Phelps won this....

Well it was still big of you - some will argue the sun is green on forums rather than check out what others have to offer.

I - like you - thought the team Phelps anchored was last - so did he. He was so surprised he asked the IOC person on the deck above him and Cavic as well.

When they finally announced it over the speakers - he did his huge smile - as wide as his arms. The guy has the longest arms, body, legs and feet for his size and no wonder he
gets to "touch" in a hurry !!
