Anyhow the USA saved your butt. At least 3 times.
After we fought Germany ALONE for a while, whilst you lot didn't want to ghet involved and the rest of Europe was overrun.

Well, blackleaf, the USA did nothing but sweep up the rest of the mess in WWII they saved nobody, but claim they did because they came in during the last year of the War, whatever.
No they didn't. They joined the war in 1942, and it didn't end until 1945. And even then, they only joined the war because the Japs bombed Pearl Harbour.

The British care about other nations - that's why we declared war on Germany after they invaded Poland.

The US only care about themselves, and would never have joined in the war if Pearl Harbor wasn't bombed.

nobody won anything in the cold war, they all had their nukes aimed at each other, it was all a show of military might, it was a big bluff.

How many Brits died in Vietnam?

We never fought in Vietnam.

Vietnam was nothing to do with us - and both France and the US LOST that war.

How many Americans died in the Falklands?

The Falklands weren't part of the cold war, and for the Americans to enter that war would have been only to the embarrassment of the Brits, and we, nor you, want to see that.

Vietnam however was part of the cold war....the Brits should have been there if in fact as you say..."The British care about other nations".

We care about the Falkland islanders by driving the Argies out. We care about the Iraqis by getting rid of Saddam.

But I wouldn't say going to war in Vietnam was a good thing. The US preaches about democracy, yet goes to war against Vietnam and tries to get rid of it democratically-elected government.

While Britain, Canada, and the rest of the Commonwealth fought Germany alone for two years or so, the U.S. made money selling Germany arms. This is true for both WW1 and WW2.

Canada certainly did their part in Korea. 25,000 Canadian soldiers, sailors, and airmen served in Korea with distinction..

Canada stayed out of the oil wars, though we were in the first gulf war afterSaddam was sucked into invading Kuwait.

After 9/11, a lot of countries got pulled into joining the so-called "War on Terror". Most found out that the "war on terror" was a sham, and still is a sham.

Blackleaf, you're an idiot and a typical snobby Brit. contrary to what you believe the British Empire was grew on slavery and larceny, by ripping off everything from other countries and bringing it back home to Britian. Just look at the British Musuem.

As for WWII, it was a collaborated effort, Britian COULDN'T hold off the nazi's on their own, I know it pains you that the mighty British Empire needed help, but you did. First by Canadians that saved your sorry asses.

As for the US entering in 1942, kiss my ass. There were reasons the US didn't enter the war and your lack of knowledge in history shows it. It seems the US can do NO good, EVER, for certain people. Your fortunate Churchill had a good relationship with FDR and pursusaded him to circumvent US laws and keep your supplies going.

So Vietnam was democratically elected? Is that right? So was Korea and Serbia. I don't hear you bicthing about those countries.

You can all yell revisionism all you want, you just loo like fools in the process.

It's hilarious...when liberal strong men attack other nations it's "sucked into attacking Kuwait" but when American attacks it's "Bush is a war criminal and America sucks and it's blood for oil etc, etc"

RE: Describe the United S

I can honestly say.......I dont disagree with ITN there lol....we would have been beaten the crap out of on our own....thats why russia was there lol.

as I've stated before, I think america was conned into vietnam....the reason we did not enter vietnam was because we'd just finished routing comunists in singapore and malaya actually.

and yes we were too weak, in all honesty, we were too weak for war FULL STOP until the falklands....ww1 and 2 killed us as a global power, we were spent, I know this, this is a fact, but new britain is back baby, we're a global power again

You have my permission to kick away manda. Don't wear those pointy Italian shoes please!

All you other nutters are blowing off hot air. You all feel your country did the most to defeat Hitler. You are all partially right. You are all also full of shit, especially those who have a hardon for the USA. In your lefty gut you are envious of the USA. Jealousy is an attribute that flourishes in Leftwing circles. The Cold War was between the USSR and the West led by the USA (God bless her).
The USSR no longer exists, it imploded. So who won?
(Thanks Ronnie Reagan, God bless his soul for saving Canada and the West.)
Now you Lefties get down on your knees and give thanks to Rhodesia's contribution in saving your butts.
Rhodesia’s own contribution to the war was exceptional and disproportionate to its size but due to its miniscule population, its actual impact in manpower was insignificant. 8,500 white men, 1,500 women, and 14,000 African men (under the ARR) fought on the Rhodesian side.

Equally important, for both Rhodesian society and the war effort in general was the British Royal Air Force’s (RAF) Empire Training Scheme. The Rhodesian air training facilities brought 15,000 Britons to the colony. For a white population who in 1940 numbered 65,000 people, having to feed and house, on ‘civilized’ standards, a group which accounted for twenty per cent of the total Rhodesian population was an unprecedented undertaking as was the task of attending to air craft equipment. Arguably, this was the greatest economic boost Rhodesia had thus seen since Responsible Government. Despite a certain 'culture shock,' especially with regards to racial matters, many of the RAF trainers and trainees were to become fond of Rhodesia and in the post war population explosion, immigrated to live in the colony.
In later posts I will detail how the South African Airforce brought Italy to defeat.

Ah, excuse me, but the United States did much to save Britain's butt in World War Two, long before they entered the war.

Roosevelt wanted in earlier, but there was strong isolationist sentiment in the USA. He did supply Lend-lease, which helped the Brits, in fact may have saved their butt, and (just before Pearl Harbour), the USA extended anti-submarine actions out to mid-Atlantic.

The Yanks were late coming in, but there is no doubt which side they were on.
