You are so right. I hate Dell too! And they are in my state. I went to Best Buy to get a Wireless G notebook card (Linksys), and it would not go in the Express Slot. I called everyone about it. Linksys got all pissy saying their cards were universal (inference: you are crazy and have no clue what you are talking about).

I called Best Buy, and they couldn't help. They were totally useless, as usual. Then, I called Dell, and they proceeded to send the same exact notebook card that wouldn't work. Now how bright is that??? I am now in the process of trying to get it off my credit card. Everyone treated me like an imbecile.

THEN, I took my notebook (Inspiron) to Best Buy. The tech couldn't believe it! The card would not fit in the Express Slot, just as I had said. I clapped and laughed. I told him, "Once in a while, the crazy old crackpot is right." He proceeded to recommend a D-Link USB G connection/and I had it up and running in no time. He looked at my net work connections, which I transferred with my flash drive, and he said I was in the top 5% of all computer experts in this country. Well, I know that's not true, but I still hate Dell for patronizing me like a total idiot. I will never buy Dell again.

I have a slamming Sony system, a killer HP, and a monster iMac. I think I know what I am doing. Good God. I could teach Dell a thing or two about customer care.

RE: I really hate Dell

I am so happy that I make my own computers. At least then when something goes wrong I have no one to blame but myself

RE: I really hate Dell

I've had mixed experiences with them. One one hand their outsourced tech support can be very difficult to understand at at times. You'll often have to repeat yourself 3 or 4 times to communicate what you want to say.

On the other hand they are nothing short of outstanding with replacing parts that even have a chance of being defective. I still find myself leaning towards supporting local, but wouldn't go as far as to not recommend a Dell.

I just wanted to say that Best Buy just sells the crap they sell, they don't provide tech support. It isn't up to them to provide support for all their stuff, they just happen to have techs on hand in case you need something repaired. They don't support manufacturer's warranty unless they get paid by the manufacturer to do so.

I wouldn't expect anything more from them, especially since their sales guys aren't on commission and don't have any incentive to help you.

As for Dell. They can go and rot in a hole. I love my HP laptop and will only buy HP. Next time unless I get a fantastic deal through a retailer, I'm buying direct from them. Warranty for HP is the best in the business. Hands down.

Does Dell Machine or Dell’s customer service really bad?

Hi Guys,

Does Dell Machine or Dell’s customer service really bad? What about the other Canadian major brands such as MDG, HP, Acer, or Gateway? There are new Canadian sites http://www.mydesktopreview.com and http://www.mynotebookreview.com where you can write review about desktop and laptop computers. You can also post your bad experiences you had with any major brand computers available in Canada. I think you will find someone there who can also help you out about your problems. Check it out. Good luck.

Thanks,
webguy

MDG BAD! Don't have time for details but they are cheap pricks. I have two Dells my son has three. We immediatly reload th OS upon recept of the comp. They put unnessessary software on it. If you can do your own techie stuff then that is the way to go for a web surfing machine. If your a gamer then you probably wouldn't have asked. Happy hunting.
MDG BAD! Sorry, I just hate them.:x

I second Eh on his motion of not buying anything made by MDG. Beware of their deceptive advertsing.. according to MDG, an upgrade = an Intel Intergrated 950 GPU... bad.

Let me tell you about Dell it sucks!!! They don't care about anything or anyone! I have a dimension it's my 3rd one(2 weeks):angryfire: and the Vista was put out to soon and it's no good. You will be looking for patchs on line to get it to work. Stay away from Dell:angryfire: :angryfire: :angryfire:

I've had two Dell laptops. On one, the hard drive decided to go wacky. I called their Customer Service people, spoke with a nice gentleman with an Indian accent, who sent me a new hard drive at no charge, with all the paperwork to return the old one.

Dell is OK. I would say you are having Vista problems not Dell problems. Thank Bill Gates.;-)

I really like Dell :) My husband and I both have Inspiron 6400 laptops and we really like them (with Windows XP of course). We've bought many Dell products before and we've had great service! If something hasn't worked or something's missing we've usually had a replacement or the missing part arrive in about 3 days. We've never had a bad experience with Dell actually....

I am on my second Dell desktop, but on hindsight I should have purchased a laptop. I have to say that I have had absolutely no problem with either computer, and teh couple of times I needed tech support even though it was in India, the technician spoke very good English. I will definitely buy Dell again.

I know I am late responding to this - but - WAIT A MINUTE. Best Buy does provide tech support for their products - all of them - if you buy the warranty policy. I have used them multiple times. I just called Best Buy today. I have gotten a new coffee pot, a new dryer and several other appliances repaired including my monitor and my printer. Are you telling me that Best Buy doesn't offer the
same deal to Canadians? That just doesn't sound right to me.:-?
