Via Hockey Schtick;
A new paper published in The Holocene finds a significant link between solar activity and climate over the past 1000 years. According to the authors, "Our results suggest that the climate responds to both the 11 yr solar cycle and to long-term changes in solar activity and in particular solar minima." The authors also find "a link between the 11 yr solar cycle and summer precipitation variability since around 1960" and that "Solar minima are in this period associated with minima in summer precipitation, whereas the amount of summer precipitation increases during periods with higher solar activity."
I too am skeptical about the notion that the "big glowing ball in the sky" affects climate. But keep an open mind.

It's Probably Nothing

"The sunspot numbers for December were not only startlingly low, they actually plunged to levels not seen since May 2011, at a time when the Sun is supposed to be approaching sunspot maximum and the number of sunspots is supposed to be increasing."

What happened? My guess would be weather. lol

Well... when we had hot weather this summer it was because of GW.

I called it... I tell you I called it. This summer I said the GW folks would jump right back to calling the cold temps "weather" when winter comes.

I'll make another prediction... when the first blast of heat comes this summer, hot weather will not be weather but a sign of GW.

Good for you. Weather is weather to me. Climate is something else; it's a trend in weather.

You going to argu all the strange wreather North America is experiencing is just a figment of their imagination ... come on.

Climate change is real. What's causing it really is the ultimate question.. sure man made pollution isn't helping, planetary evolution probably the main reason... whatever the reason we are all stuck on this space ship earth and if we don't smarten up as a species ... we may find ourselves on the endangered list..

From August... as an example.

And the climate will change.... as it always has.

You sure did.

Just like I called it when cooler than normal ocean temps off the coast of Baja Mexico were creating the Mid West US drought that Putzes would be blaming Global Warming for the drought.
