Now that he has been arrested any bets on how long it takes for some judge to let him out on bail? I bet noon thursday.

Nah, I think he's a "keeper". Besides I don't think business would be too brisk at the second hand store.

What if the prosecutor is able to prove dangerous offender status, JLM. Doesn't that mean life?

I'm thinking someone like this should be considered for dangerous offender status, but does someone have to have more than one offence for that to happen?

He was facing eviction at the end of the month ... not sure if that was July or August.

The system is pretty unpredictable, Olson came up for review after 15 years under the "faint hope" clause. "Life" is a nebulous term and virtually NEVER means natural life, better the U.S. system of 99 years. (That was devised when no one ever lived to be 100)

Normally the cops have to wait 24 hrs on a missing person report for an adult. Thats because too many of them have just been out somewhere and it wastes far too much valuable police time.

I know, but in this case I think there were enough circumstances to at least warrant having someone check it out.

I believe he's been arrested. Saw it on the Global news tonight but, for now, can't find any other info..

RCMP arrest David Wesley Bobbitt in connection with gruesome sexual attackA man who was the subject of a Canada-wide manhunt after a woman was tied up and assaulted in Penticton on the weekend was arrested near Osoyoos on Wednesday, according to police. Osoyoos RCMP picked up David Wesley Bobbitt without incident, Cpl. Dan Moskaluk said in a news release. Bobbitt had set up camp on an orchard south of Oliver around 6 p.m. Wednesday, Moskaluk said. The property owner asked Bobbitt to leave before recognizing him and calling a friend, who is an RCMP officer. Police arrested Bobbitt along Highway 97 north of Osoyoos, Moskaluk said. The 22-year-old woman was tied up and violently assaulted Saturday afternoon in Penticton. She was reported missing Saturday evening around 7 p.m., and after a long night of searching, her family found her at Bobbitt's business, Dave’s Second Hand Store. The police entered the premise and recovered the woman at around 3 a.m. Sunday morning, but the suspect had escaped. A Canada-wide warrant for Bobbitt's arrest was issued Monday. Bobbitt was found guilty in 2005 of possessing a weapon for dangerous purposes in connection with an incident a year earlier in Nelson, according to Provincial Court records. He was sentenced to two years' probation as well as a two-year weapons prohibition.

Good. While I am happy that I am caught, I wish that he had been a little roughed up by the brother first.

The "Faint Hope Clause" is one of the biggest travesties of justice that Canada has ever implemented. It's a freaking joke, and all it does is smear **** all over the victim's family as they continually have to worry whether or not the monster will be getting out.

Who knows? That could all be a show put on by him to show everyone that he isn't criminally responsible due to his not being in a proper mental state. Either way, he deserves a lengthy jail sentence.
