Well male on female violence is one that many within the Sikh community fail to address.

But, if you all know about it, then it's not hidden, it's not needing stats to tell you. And the communities (ie., Surrey, etc.) likely have their social services departments scheming on ways to address a problem that they know is occurring, no?

The women had to come out - the ones with the fortitude to do so - how many others suffer in silence is the point.
I am familiar with it due to being familiar with cultures where the man runs the roost for lack of a better term. where honor is his and his alone. Where a woman who disrespects him is in trouble. It is not only within the Sikh community to say it was only with that community would be false.

If it is a person with a white complexion who you are looking for, say it. You have to describe the suspect some way that law enforcement can use. This is not something that being politically correct will work. Stats must be as accurate as possible.

Race crime stats are one thing but race incarceration stats are a whole new ballgame and they don't reflect the race stats that's for sure.

But they are neccessity.

Govt agencies that scheme to do good? That's a hot one.

Should we be keeping crime stats by race?

A fair question and one that has been discussed previously on this forum. Whenever this subject is discussed, one must always be mindful of selective enforcement of the law such as that shown on the book Freakonomics and the pathetic example of Mark Fuhrmann. This goes a long way towards explaining certain periodic stats.

Sure doesn't seem like they are, but I suppose anything is possible.

Is Sikhism a race?

Sikhismis a religion. The race is Indian as they are the people of India.
Five centuries ago, Guru Nanak founded Sikhism, a religion designed to promote equality among people. Although it evolved into a warrior religion, it was intended to uphold bravery in the face of evil. But the very essence of Sikhism, its spiritual struggle for human rights, has been perverted by misguided men bent on gaining power and exacting revenge. The Sikh teaching, “When all else fails, only then raise your sword,” no longer applies to defending the defenceless. It is an excuse to use violence to settle the score.
Quote by Mani Amar

People in various areas of Greater Vancouver BC are frequently put in harm's way by the violence of the younger corrupt egoistic Sikh men who think they are supreme men. They are most prolific in gang thuggery in the lower mainland and take great pride in it too. Statistics can be googled up instantly. Though not all are like this there are far too many.

The violence is horrendous against their women, usually the daughter, sister or young wife. This is thought to be a cultural effect becuase Sikhism is a rather new religion but the violence against women is thousands of years old.

Having said the above husband has worked with Sikh men for over 30 years and one man (and his family) are very dear friends to us - even to attending his daughter's traditional Sikh wedding. We value our numerous Sikh friends whom we have socialized with for decades supporting each other through life's challeging events.
