ya you could never have a true debate about this on tv cause too many religious facists would go nuts displaying their outrage

It doesn't look much better when 'hardcore atheists' go on a rant about how there is no god, there is no purpose in life, et al. I'm an academic so I am used to hearing both sides of the opinion but frankly both sides of the coin are non-issues for me and hold no actual revelence in the Canadian education system. However, it is certainty a more problematic topic in the United States because of the religious lobby that extends into health law (How come a ban of abortions is applied to non-religious people) and education (to the extent that some schools will not teach evolution).

I've seen the speaker in the video before. Of course his message is simplistic. You really have to have a childlike mind to accept everything in the Old Testament literally. Biblical teachings are cultural myths and little different from other myths that are taught to children such as Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. They are all based on the fact that most children lack sufficient judgment and experience to differentiate between fantasy and fiction. The sad thing is that so many adults have the same sort of childlike faith - of course, most of them have been subjected to the same sort of brainwashing shown in the video.
