Yes........the thought of BIG Brother in the extreme is a very concerning one. Seems that it can happen very gradually on the basis of some fear tactics ( terrorism is such a good one as it can be used and abused at will by the Gov't. Heck , even CALLING someone a terrorist is the highest of insults. ( and it is usually accompanied by threats of 'reporting " to the powers that be)
Now.....if folks LIKE the path that is being taken. LIKE being on camera virtually all the time. LIKE being questioned and accused , LIKE having to be careful what they say for fear of being branded or even reported. LIKE having the internet spied on by the powers that intrude. .....then they should be getting happier all the time.
The thing is that some of us do relish our personal space and rights that so many have fought for and yes, died for ...just the way there are meant to be.
The fact is that the current millieu fosters a degree of caution and even mild paranoia . In that case it is probably a healthy thing as it keeps folks aware of the societal changes and gradual tightening up of gov't control.
Speaking of fear......seems those that create all these "security " laws , intrusive acts on the basis of "terrorism" are promoting fear in the population by default.
How many freedoms are folks willing to give up in order for the gov't to provide a false sense of security.?? Terrorism is as old as humanity. It is only the greedy human with an agenda that would use it to his own advantage. Which leader would not love to have a higher control over the population??
in the words of Bush Jr. "it would be so much easier if it were a dictatorship"... and that folks is probably the only real truth he told.
