Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

Bingo. The flu is deadly but this virus is nasty because unlike the flu, you can be contagious without symptoms. The window of that with the flu is very small. Therefore it doesn't spread as fast. The exponential way this spreads means the 1-2% of the infected will overwhelm healthcare systems as they will all hit at the same time instead of staggered in a slower manner like the flu. Also I have heard a wide variety of fatality rates. I used the low ones in this post.

Thank you dear sir for being sane....

i don't know where you get your "data" from, but not surprising to me at all i find it to be a load of hysterical scaremongering drivel.
Here's what i've just found:
Coronavirus appears to spread more slowly than the flu. This is probably the biggest difference between the two. The flu has a shorter incubation period (the time it takes for an infected person to show symptoms) and a shorter serial interval (or the time between successive cases). Coronavirus’s serial interval is around five to six days, while flu’s gap between cases is more like three days, the who says. So flu still spreads more quickly.

The flu is contagious without symptoms, too:

People with flu are most contagious in the first three to four days after their illness begins. Most healthy adults may be able to infect others beginning 1 day before symptoms develop and up to 5 to 7 days after becoming sick

Some of it is wrong, like the bit where it's deadlier than the flu. In reality, it's not known how deadly it is due to discrepancies around the world in measuring supposed coronavirus deaths, as I've mentioned.

Instead of just acting like an idiot, show me one country where the conventional flu has killed 812 people in a single day.

I'd bet it'd get nowhere near that.

It's only 35,000 in the whole world right now.

Why is it some people haven't learn from previous "pandemics" when the death tolls have always been just a fraction of those forecast?
It is hard to tell where Trump gets his numbers from. He IS known to exaggerate for that dramatic effect. We should know by now NOT to take anything he says literally.......... or even figuratively.or metaphorically..

Again, just ignoring what I keep saying about Italy's inaccurate recording of coronavirus deaths, which is likely to be exaggerating the number of coronavirus deaths there.

Many of the deaths in Italy from coronavirus have not been from coronavirus at all. Many victims have died from something else entirely, but are being recorded as having died from coronavirus due to merely having it in their system.

The reason why Germany's death toll has been so low is because, unlike Italy, it has only been recording deaths that have actually occurred from coronavirus.

Also, Italy has a very elderly population - second only to Japan.

Germany is a more accurate picture of coronavirus than Italy is, with its low death toll.

Italy’s death rate may also appear high because of how doctors record fatalities.

“The way in which we code deaths in our country is very generous in the sense that all the people who die in hospitals with the coronavirus are deemed to be dying of the coronavirus.

“On re-evaluation by the National Institute of Health, only 12 per cent of death certificates have shown a direct causality from coronavirus, while 88 per cent of patients who have died have at least one pre-morbidity - many had two or three.”

Prof Ricciardi

I keep pointing out that Italy's death rate is very inaccurate and is exaggerating hugely the number of coronavirus deaths. You and others just keep ignoring it.

I agree with Blackleaf. I think BoreJo should immediately go on an extensive tour of speaking to large crowds and shaking hands, just to show how badass Brits are.

gotta tell ya....THAT makes me sick. Have they learned anything??
Some of these cultural factors should be re examined........ but Chinese Tradition is very powerful.
You're right! They should only eat good clean animals like pigs (cholera), cows (smallpox, brucellosis), and chickens (bird flu).

US hospital ship Comfort docks in New York.

We don't have hospital ships. We are far too busy with our submarine hunting ability to worry about hospital ships. And F18s. We can launch F18s against the virus.

Even if in a few cases it is less deadly why would you want to take the risk?
