"Li told a news conference on the state of the language that the name was an extreme example of people's increasingly adventurous approach to Chinese, as commercialization and the Internet break down conventions"

Oh, that can't happen here....8O

Well, in the comic book 'Y The Last Man', the main character has a male pet monkey named Ampersand.;-)

Personally, Ampersand sounds more like a girl's name to me. It would be Amperso if you were naming a boy. ;-)

hmmm...and what was Y smoking? and, come to think of it, why?

Well, considering how something killed every other male on Earth(including all animals), I would expect him to be a little wacky.;-)

Unfortunately, he named the monkey before the crap hit the fan. Maybe he is just strange?
