"Can you answer one simple question for me? Otherwise this is going to go back and forth for a while. Do you consider yourselves British or Canadian prior to 1867?"

I was wondering that too....

Really think, what difference does that make?? You seem to be under the illusion that canada is the only country that does not agree with the invasion of Iraq, when in fact just about every corner of the world rallies againist you. Is that our fault? You also seem bent on canadians not talking about the war. I find that odd. Why? The only reason you have any interest in us is because we border your country. Why are certain americans interested in our elections?? Why are they funding websites like free domminion?? Are they trying to munipulate our government like they have so many. Again this is about your government. You are never going to be able to stop people from talking about this war.

Nice spin peapod, but you need alot of training yet to do it nice and easy as the Rev does. I'm not talking about Iraq. I'm talking about your inept government and why its not protecting its peoples interests from the evil empire to the south. After all you're not a third world country.

And I'd like to know what stranglehold the US has on Canada.

I asked DasFX a question so I know how to respond. It's a simple question, othewise we'll go around in circles. Maybe you can answer for me.

Ya I spin, and you blaher. You have got to be kiding me 8O We may have our agruments here, but most of us know how good we have it here, compared to alot of other countries. You don't have to worry about our problems, its OUR country so we will work on them. When we invade another country for its natural resources, well than you can come and blather up a storm about us. In the meantime, we will discuss and post all we want about the war the in Iraq. If you don't like it, to bad.

I suggest you practice what you preach then (in bold above)

However YOUR problems seem to stem from the US, so I was just wondering how that is. Please enlighten me.

Okay here is some enlightment for you, we can discuss and dish all we want about what your government is doing. You put yourself out on the world stage, and you have done a lousy job at it. Not only are canadians going to discuss it, but so is the rest of the world, until such time as you come up with a plan to shut us all up. Your country is being run by religious zealots, and like the cancer that it is, I do not want it to spread into my country. So grab some more baby duck and if your going to hang around here, be prepared for us to post topics concerning the invasion of Iraq. Thats about as light as I can get.

Since you constantly avoid answering my questions, and spin conversations like a well trained uber-hyperbole leftist, I will ignore you also.

You will have to forgive them ITN. Canada is full of a bunch of leftist America haters, not too much I can do about it.

Did I forget to mention ungrateful?

Oh look, a thread on how everybody is picking on do poor widdle USA. I see the American trying to defend the US knows nothing of its trade policies and practices and doesn even understand that under NAFTA we can't reduce the supply to the US, even in times of domestic shortage, unless we cut our own usage by the same amount. Like his brave and incredibly stupid leader, he denies there is a shortage of natural gas even though the price has been going up and up and more and more of the wells are sour gas or incredibly remote.

And if the Americna government is to blame for NAFTA, why don't you vote out those who bow down and suck the American governments d*cks? If you are in the situation you claim to be, blame it on your inept government with no balls.

Actually Canadians did vote out the Mulroney ( Conservatives) government that brought in the FTA. It was the largest defeat in Canadian history. They voted for a party (Liberals) that as its campaign promise to eliminate the FTA, but reneged on its election promise. Much like here...there is little difference between what is Republican and Democratic parties. Say anything to get elected, then it doesn't matter if you are not true to your word. By keeping the populace of both countries divided it ensures the the status quo.

First of all get facts straight. The 1998 election was about fee trade, which the Conservatives won very handily. The 1993 election, which they lost, was about the GST, which the Liberals campaigned against and then kept.

Now let's see. A democrat Kennedy got the US into Vietnam because Kruschev goaded him, a democrat Johnson kept them in, and a Republican Nixon got them out. A democrat Carter got hostages taken in Iran, and a Republican Reagan and a Canadian Taylor got them out. A Republican Reagan was a main factor in the fall of the Soviet Union and the Berlin Wall. A Republican Bush #1 pushed a tyrant and dictator out of Kuwait. A Democrat Clinton got a BJ in the White House. A Republican Bush #2 brought the beginnings of democracy to Afghanistan and Iraq, got rid of the tyrant and dicator Bush #1 pushed out of Kuwait, and has Al Qeada on the run.

Fairly impressive, I would say, for "not doing a very good job on the world stage." And the odd thing, the Republican presidents stop a war, end a cold war, bring a city together, get hostages out, and imprison dictators and tyrants. All this in addition to being the first to help out during world wide emergencies, like the earthquake and tsnumai. And the democrats get in a war, keep in a war, get hostages taken and get oral sex.

I know that I Think Not does not need help from me in defending his country, but I want him to know that there are actually common sense people in Canada who can appreciate what the US does, be critical in a civilized manner of what we perceive to be wrong, and still be friends. Unfortunately, the extreme members of this forum can do none of these without becoming hysterical.

RE: Conservative apology

You forgot to mention that Mulroney lied about the deal. He said water wasn't on the table. It clearly was and we are being sued to allow US companies to export it. He said that it wouldn't affect our energy sovereignty. It clearly did because we cannot cut exports to the US even in time of domestic shortage. He said culture would not be affected, but the split run magazine issue hurt our magazine industry immeasurably.

Those are just three examples, there are many, many more. It was a clear case of Conservatives lying about what they were doing. By the next election it was an issue. Canadians were seeing their high-paying jobs begin to disappear because of NAFTA and be replaced with McJobs that offered low pay and no benefits.

Mulroney wasn't just run out of office for the GST. He was run out of office for scandals, dishonesty, and incompetence. He remains the most despised Prime Minister Cnada has ever had.

I don't have a link, but the last time I read anything about oil supplies, was there was at least two hundred years of oil when taking the oilsands into consideration. And Rev, if you think the gas price is high now, Kyoto will double or triple it if, God forbid, Kyoto is implemented.

Only in your opinion. Trudeau tops many Canadians list of most despised PM. And your "scandals" were allegations were charges were dropped due to lack of evidence, or the ministers were exonerated. I will concede that going to a strip club, boy, that is REALLY worthy of having to step down.
