LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Conrad Murray has been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson.
A jury of seven men and five women deliberated for less than two days before convicting Murray in Jackson’s 2009 death.
Jurors had 300 pieces of evidence to consider after listening to 49 witnesses and complex medical testimony during the six-week trial.
Prosecutors argued that Murray acted in a criminally negligent manner after giving Jackson a powerful dose of the anesthetic propofol to use a sleep aid.

Sign of the times...............blame someone else when things go to hell. I think Jackson was doing dope long before he met Murray.

Maybe Jackson was doing drugs, but Murray was a doctor and knew better than to mix the drugs like he was doing. Murray failed as a doctor and thats why he is guilty. Odd that you would say "blame someone else when things go to hell" when as a trained medical medical professional he did fail and try to blame his patient...

There may be some truth to what you say, but doctors are no more infallible than anyone else.

Thats why they undergo the training they do, and why they are paid at the rate they are: its a power and responsibility thing, and if they don't want the responsibility, they are free to leave medicine and push a broom or whatever.

Being a doctor to the stars, whether they are hollywood celebrities or athletes, simply means supplying them with the drugs they want.

It's not medicine.

That may be a lot of the reality of the situation but that also lends more credence to the notion of his guilt. The drug dealer bears some blame in the OD death of an abuser, not just the abuser themselves.

While MIchael Jackson was ultimately responsible for his own demise there were an awful lot of Pariahs who ushered him to the morgue. From the surgeons who carved up his face, to the family who fed off him even after his death, to the Doctor who took the Hippocratic Oath.

I swear to fulfill, to the best of my ability and judgment, this covenant:

I will respect the hard-won scientific gains of those physicians in whose steps I walk, and gladly share such knowledge as is mine with those who are to follow.

I will apply, for the benefit of the sick, all measures which are required, avoiding those twin traps of overtreatment and therapeutic nihilism.

I will remember that there is art to medicine as well as science, and that warmth, sympathy, and understanding may outweigh the surgeon's knife or the chemist's drug.

I will not be ashamed to say "I know not," nor will I fail to call in my colleagues when the skills of another are needed for a patient's recovery.

I will respect the privacy of my patients, for their problems are not disclosed to me that the world may know. Most especially must I tread with care in matters of life and death. If it is given me to save a life, all thanks. But it may also be within my power to take a life; this awesome responsibility must be faced with great humbleness and awareness of my own frailty. Above all, I must not play at God.

I will remember that I do not treat a fever chart, a cancerous growth, but a sick human being, whose illness may affect the person's family and economic stability. My responsibility includes these related problems, if I am to care adequately for the sick.

I will prevent disease whenever I can, for prevention is preferable to cure.

I will remember that I remain a member of society, with special obligations to all my fellow human beings, those sound of mind and body as well as the infirm.

If I do not violate this oath, may I enjoy life and art, respected while I live and remembered with affection thereafter. May I always act so as to preserve the finest traditions of my calling and may I long experience the joy of healing those who seek my help.

Do doctors still take the Hippocratic Oath?

Michael Jackson should have been put in the funny farm years ago. The reason he wasn't, was that he
was too much of a cash cow for all the parasites he had hanging around him.
