JLM, the British House of Lords is a collection of blue-blood, unappointed and useless drones. It is not so much that which one do I disapprove of as which one can any decent person approve of.

Kind of like our own so-called Senate, where all members are freeloading suck-holes, who gave up any measure of integrity when they accepted the nomination by the Prime Minister of the day.

I hear you. Seems someone is supporting over 700 of the bastards.

I just read that Conrad Blacks crimes were small potatoes compared with what has been going on since he was convicted. Blacks lawyers have also manage to shine some new light on a good number of the charges. He may get off with time served.

I earned my Canadian Citizenship, and I have nothing but contempt for someone who renounces his in order to be a Royal Titsucking member of the most dispicable political body in the world, the House of Lords in England.

I think renouncing your citizenship should be final - unless maybe you contribute to paying down the national debt by a few million dollars.

That said... I renounce my affiliation with any political party in Canada and thereby refuse to support any one of them with anymore tax payments.

There... that had to be said

Amiel is a nasty, hateful person. Or at least, that's her public persona. Maybe it's all an act, but she's been like that for many, many years. I used to wonder where Maclean's had come up with her, and why.

Black is a nasty piece of work, who fleeced the pension plans of several companies as he built his empire. In my opinion, a business owner who deliberately screws off with the pension money that is supposed to be there for the employees is a horrid person.

Black is an insult to real Canadian entrepreneurs.

He certainly carries an aura of arrogance.:smile::smile:

What money? That's what he has to convince a judge.

Question: If Black renounced his Canadian citizenship, how is he getting into Canada? It's pretty obvious he has a criminal record now....

I think this guy is just getting far too much attention from the media. As far as I can tell, he's just an all round A$$hole.:lol::lol:

Considering he controlled a good percentage of the media, and wasn't the most popular boss in the world, I wonder if some of it isn't a bit of pay-back. They're a bitch, you know. ;-)

Well, I guess there was good and bad news to day, the good being that he's not allowed back to Canada and he is confined to the U.S., the bad is that he is not being confined to the north slope of Alaska.:lol::lol:

Obviously you don't know the man, I do. The charges against him were bogus, based on tthe testimony of a squeeling lowlife rat who was trying to save his own hide. The whole episode is pretty sad. I hope he is back in Canada soon. He has paid his time.

Meanwhile we'll do our best to struggle along without him...............:smile:

Yes, I'm happy to go shop at Dominion Store and think of Conrad Black. I'm always pleased when someone fleeced a pesion fund to pay for their own personal lifestyle, what's that expresssion, 'let them eat cake'?

Anyway, once the charges are dismissed, he'll be able to come visit Canada again, although why he'd want to come to a 'poor second choice' country like Canada is beyond me.
