RE: Condoleezza Rice to v

Keep softwood in 'perspective' urges Rice

Some quotes:

"We believe that there is still room for negotiation."

"It is a trade dispute. We are working to try and resolve that trade dispute. We have mechanisms to do that,"

Rice, dodging questions on NAFTA specifically, said the U.S. word has been "as good as gold" when it comes to international trade.

Click link at top for rest.

Just typical arrogant USG replies. We won they didn't and its time for them to live up to the Nafta deal.

Rice is an idiot. Martin should be backing away from security and talking about energy surcharges at this point. Feck the lying bastards in the Bush regime.

Was Victoria, now Ottawa
Condi is an idiot. I think the weel is turning but the hamster is dead. I realy don't care about our relations with the US. They have burned allot of bridges. If we flex our muscles and decide to just back out of NAFTA completly we'd be better off. We'd find other markets like India, China, and Europe. Then, when the US comes begging for fresh water and energy we'd sell it to them not as good neighbours like we used to be but as a business venture for big profits. Now all we need is Alberta to be good Canadians and back the rest of Canada.

Not if they win a majority government and not if the Conservatives will back them up

those are mighty big if's. If is just another word for might.

Those are really big ifs, Twila. Martin is buying time and waiting for an election.

What he'd really like to be doing is licking the boots of his corporate masters and lining up some board positions for when he retires, but since Stevie wants to be the head bootlicker, Paulie has to listen to Canadians. It's driving him scooters, but he has no choice.

Excellent question, Pete. The answer is that the corporations don't like that kind of thing. They cannot profit from it.

Bush did say he would send in the U.S. military to free any American arrested by the world court.

Bush also said there were WMD in Iraq. The man's a congenital liar.

If the world stands behind the court and/or the arresting country, Bush will have to back down.
