Yep. Evolution tends to favor the most adaptable. those preservationists and purists that want everything to stay the way they like things are in for a lot of disappointments. As, BT said, we will all eventually be tan colored. But that is just a superficial change and there will be much deeper changes. In the meantime, there will be a struggle on many sides but the sooner people realize that we are not all homogeneous and shouldn't "all be like us" the better. Evolution takes time and forcing it usually backfires badly.

The Shawnee are a remnant population. The Shawnee in some ways remind me of the Yue of Guangdong and Hunan provinces in China. They were once a distinct people. They were conquered by the Han and Sinicized. Look at the original people of Taishan County in Guangdong. They were conquered by the Sze Yup group of Han from central China. Sze Yup settlers followed. The original Taishanese were overwhelmed like the Shawnee. Their culture was demoted and ceased to exist. Their genes were mixed with those of their conquerors. The Taishanese now think of themselves as Sze Yup, and the Yue now think of themselves as Han. Similarly, the Shawnee now think of themselves as American despite the fact that their greatest hero died fighting Americans.
I have the advantage of having lived in California since Custer was a lieutenant. The Mestizos from Mexico and Central America as a group are not of the same caliber as immigrants from Guangdong, Tonkin or Punjab. The Mestizos who come here work hard, love their families, and place little value on education. That's the primary reason California's public schools rank 47th out of fifty states. Han, Viets, Cham and Punjabis have cultural characteristics that place a high value on educational excellence. That's why they succeed in school. The illegals come to improve their lives by taking low skilled jobs in which they work themselves to death. And those jobs do improve their lives compared to the conditions they faced in their homelands. They also provide the slave labor needed by Big Business, and the future votes needed by the American left. In the process American workers are denied entry level jobs, and overall wages are depressed artificially.
The illegals have difficulty in raising their children because the illegals are working most of the time. Their children aren't willing to perform the same work, but lack the social and human capital necessary to better themselves. That's where the gangs come in. The children become vatos and putas trapped in a world that isn't fully Mestizo and really isn't American. They become a separate people.
Silicon Valley has a huge population of ignorant and impoverished Mestizos. They don't work in high tech. Silicon Valley is doing well for educated whites, Indians, Vietnamese and Han who have the human and social capital necessary to fit in. Btw, many of the Indians and East Asians in Silicon Valley are brought in by the high tech companies on H1B1 visas in order to hold down wages among Americans. When I was much younger Silicon Valley was more than a headquarters and research hub. It actually had good manufacturing jobs for middle class and working class people. Those manufacturing jobs have been outsourced overseas.
Don't talk to me about San Francisco. The city has been gentrified. There was once a vibrant African American population in SF. Most no longer can afford to live in SF. The Black population in the city has dwindled to six percent. The latino population in SF is only fifteen percent in a state where the latino population is almost forty five percent. That fifteen percent live in abject poverty in the Tenderloin District. SF is a city dominated by a population of Chinese and upscale whites. Google, Yahoo and other Silicon Valley high tech companies bring in buses to SF every morning, pick up their workers, and drop them off at the end of the day. Those workers have gentrified much of SF, and priced working class and middle class people out of the housing and rental markets. That's why the city has been transformed.
I don't live in the world of American Graffiti. My wife is Sze Yup. I live in a fused world of Confucianism, George Meany, John Wayne, John Muir, and John Steinbeck. There aren't a whole lot of people with my perspective.
