This entire conversation started when the Rev implied CN Rail was somehow a cash cow and the undisputed technological wonder of modern railways, until of course it became privatised. At which point its sole puprose is to "dump" chemicals in the environment, just to piss off everybody and lose millions in cleanup.

Actually, the conversation started when CN caused two major environmental disasters within a week, then tried to shirk responsibility and hid from the public like a bunch of cowardly morons.

They didn't dump anything, it was an accident until proven otherwise.

They didn't tell anybody for over a week. Now it turns out that people aren't supposed to shower wash dishes in that water.

Since you pretend to be so up on safety regulations, why not tell us what CN's responsibilities are in transporting toxic chemicals and reporting spills?

Nice bunch of anti-union bullshit, ITN. Your neo-con roots are showing.

I've been called alot worse than a neo-con over the years, I don't expect you to understand unions, you think unions should keep their workforce irresponsible and lazy. These are the unions of today.

My part of the conversation started when you implied CN Rail is intentionally "dumping" chemicals. You were doing fine until you couldn't back up with evidence what you claim.

And for that, they most definately should be fined.

I only know CANOSH is the responsible authority for safety in Canada, I don't pretend, that's your job.

Neo-con

"An intellectual and political movement in favor of political, economic, and social conservatism that arose in opposition to the perceived liberalism of the 1960s: “The neo-conservatism of the 1980s is a replay of the New Conservatism of the 1950s, which was itself a replay of the New Era philosophy of the 1920s” (Arthur M. Schlesinger, Jr.). "

There is nothing wrong with being a neocon....it sure beats being a communist. You could be called far, far worse....

There are no accidents, Jay. There are incidents and they are predictable and avoidable.

ITN, you know nothing about unions or how hard their members work. That is obvious by statements you have made. If you are so against unions though, I would suggest that you quit taking holidays and start working sixty hour weeks with no overtime pay. If it wasn't for unions you wouldn't have the workplace rights you have now.

I don't think that applies to him.

I am protected by the Government of Ontario, not a union.

I believe I made it clear what unions are today. Unions up until the mid 80's were great. They properly educated and trained their members, fought for their rights and so forth.

Today, they are a bunch of lazy workers feeding off the sweat and blood of their predecessors. And I certainly do not need you tell me about unions, I was a shop stewart in Local #3 for three years.

And I take holidays, and work much less than 60 hours a week, because I've earned that right.
