he disrupted the place and behaved like he always has yet he claims
anyway...Imagine the pain of having a job where all you do is watch Rob Ford's every move 24/7
What happens in rehab should stay there normally I agree however he is running for office
and didn't mention he disrupted the place and behaved like he always has yet he claims
he changed and is trying to look presentable, Behavior is neither left nor right and he can't
claim to have changed.
Most anyone in a treatment center is still a practicing a s s hole, (drug of choice aside) , it doesn't matter who the client is, or even their motive for being there. If you've ever had experience in that area you'd know. I have. North Bay Treatment Center, their Psychiatric Hospital's forensic ward, the halfway house, detox, Indian friendship Center and various and sundry other groups. I'm no authority, just one of many with first-hand experience. There were priests, celebrities, tribal leaders, local junkies and common drunks. They're all the same inside.
Oh, and no 'sobriety coaches'.
Further, even those that are there to 'smooth things over, hide from the law, truly get sober or whatnot...they all deserve their anonymity lest the next guy who needs help balks at the idea for fear of being discovered or found it. It happens sometimes that people don't want anyone to know they're there see.
To breach that confidentiality is the stuff of dr phil and the boys. It's slimy and even dangerous. Any outlet ( in this instance mentalcase posted from his fav, the star, first, but then all the other media sharks were drawn to the blood. Still no matter. They are all passing along gossip.
Personally I think Rob went there for image reasons, for symbolism, for votes, for ego. To take the heat off but also because he was hurting. His family is sick as hell too. They've all been affected. Most of them could probably use Al Anon. But that's his and their business. he's still exposed to some form of recovery should he ever choose to follow through honestly.
A day at a time.
protip: so-called Treatment Centers (good, bad or otherwise and if worth their salt will strongly suggest attending meetings, lots of them) do not fix people, regardless of the joints bling, geography or past clients. Most addicts, rubbies, degenerate gamblers and such that get well, get better (24 hours at a time) without these places.
I could be wrong too, all except the part that mf posted the grubby star article first. ;-)
Nice rant!
I did mine in Port Colborne. Azzholes are still azzholes and Jonesing ones make it worse. In my time I met people genuinely working toward recovery and people who were just there to jump through the hoops. Never is "Live and let live" such a tongue-chewer than when behind those doors secured by anonymity. Agreed - they're from every walk of life - and equals. That's harder to take for some than for others.
I've questioned all along if Ford was appearancing - yet sincerely wished him well in a recovery. If there was a leak, I'm inclined to believe it didn't come from any official source. A hoop-jumper will say anything you want them to say for a couple of pills, a beer and/or a joint. That's sleezy journalism.
it's piss-poor journalism and you know it.
He smoked crack and went to rehab.

I expect he was bitchy and more full of hot air than usual. Institutional steamed veggies will do that. Personally, I'd have gone over the wall for a Timmies. Decaf just didn't cut itWe don't know how he behaved there! (Officially at least)
is it decaf because caffeine is considered a drug? 8OI expect he was bitchy and more full of hot air than usual. Institutional steamed veggies will do that. Personally, I'd have gone over the wall for a Timmies. Decaf just didn't cut it

That's a fact....is it decaf because caffeine is considered a drug? 8O
that's tough though because people can have wicked withdrawl from caffeine so it's a double whammy...could you smoke? That's a fact....
Newport didn't allow radio or TV either. Triggers. One of the counselors started bringing in newspapers so I could at least get a news fix

it's gotta be harder now then...before you could smoke and have coffeeWhen I was there, yes - but only out on the balcony. Now there are laws against it
In my opinion, if she's in control of the drink, she's as well tuned as anyoneit's gotta be harder now then...before you could smoke and have coffee
off topic aside:
give me an opinion...I know someone who was crack addicted...they pretty much lost everything and hit the bottom so hard they bounced... they are now doing super well...back with the husband and kids...so a few days ago we're all standing in the kitchen drinking...she came in and poured herself a vodka...is that acceptable...I was shocked but thought well I don't know much about cross addictions so maybe it's fine
