Evergrande: the end of China’s economic growth?; Huawei pays $500K to lobby White House

Chinese property developer Evergrande is collapsing. But its problems are just the tip of the iceberg. What lies under the water is the now-shaky pillar of the Chinese economy—real estate. In this special report, we look at what Beijing still has left up its sleeve—to convince the Chinese people to ignore widespread issues and human rights abuse, to preserve the economy. And examine exactly how far this teetering domino effect could go. Blacklisted Huawei reportedly spent half a million dollars since July to lobby the White House. Experts warn the Biden administration to hold the line against the telecom giant. In a rare statement, President Biden says the U.S. has the commitment to defend Taiwan when China attacks it. Is this a significant shift of Washington's policy over Taiwan and China? The White House says no.

Gas explosion in China shatters city block; First Chinese spy agent extradited to US |China in Focus

A big explosion in a northern Chinese city left buildings destroyed. People covered in blood were seen carried away in ambulances. China turns to the United States for help amid a power crisis. Beijing is set to double its import of natural gas from America through deals with an American energy company. China’s coal price tripled at its highest point. Authorities intervened, solving the problem for now. But they might have made another problem worse. The Boston Celtics’ Enes Kanter is calling out the Chinese regime’s treatment of Tibetans. Celtics games are reportedly already being pulled in China. Japanese companies are in the spotlight. One has been fined $100,000 by China for choosing a wrong date for a new product launch. The other company is investing billions of dollars in the United States.

Would this be an example of Xi complying and selling out, after the news of their current GDP pending collapse?

China's Xi Launches $232M Biodiversity Protection Fund for Developing Countries

President Xi said China's contribution to the Kunming Biodiversity Fund would start at 1.5 billion yuan and that it would also welcome contributions from other parties.

He also announced a new national park scheme that would bring a land area of 230,000 square km (88,800 square miles) under stronger state protection.

The parks - which cover China's panda, tiger and leopard habitats as well as key nature reserves near the headwaters of the Yangtze, Yellow and Mekong rivers in the northwest - are home to nearly 30 percent of the key terrestrial wildlife species found in the country, Xi said.

China has identified funding as a key roadblock in efforts to meet ambitious climate and biodiversity targets.
And yet Xi himself recently stated that China's food and financial security are priorities over the climate.

If China is on "shaky ground" then they're really dangerous which is great - we don't have anyone watching the "chicken coop" because they're too busy worrying about gender issues, non existent climate crises, and too busy making sure our military is "woke" all while we get poorer and they're lining their pockets. When the attack comes, we won't be prepared. I think the attack will be cyber more than war-fare but I wouldn't be surprised if it's both.

I don't know but I think people need to be prepared for what is coming in the future - will it be 2 years? 5 years? 10 years? Who knows but it's coming if we don't change our leadership both here & in the U.S. Being apathetic is no longer an option if we wish to remain free.

Just sayin'
