If the Logo pisses some people off and management wants to change it, who cares?

Sport's teams don't like risk. Why do you think Colin Kapernick has been blackballed from the NFL?

Explain how it was stupid? I asked a question. Can't you just answer it?

False equivalence of a business and a criminal enterprise. As relevant to the discussion as horning in to a discussion of corporal punishment and saying "Is it OK to murder your children?"

I mean, I understand that you were trying to protect your little online Klavern, but at least try not to drool.

The Canadian Navy used to have HMCS Huron, HMCS Iroquois, HMCS Algonquin, HMCS Athabaskan. HMCS Sioux, HMCS Haida, HMCS Cayuga, HMCS Ojibway, HMCS Onandaga, HMCS Okanagan. Was any of that disrespectful?

Cleveland Indians decide to do away with the cartoon of Chief Wahoo on their caps and uniforms. It is arguably the most racist image in sports.

In another year or so they will go back using the big C like they did when they first started in 1902:

back then, no caricatures whatsoever:

I'm surprised the Snowflakes haven't asked for the removal of Mickey Mouse from Disneyland.

I mean, the term 'Mick' is obviously a derogatory slang term for an Irishman.

Actually, if you want to hear something hilarious, for years Donald Duck cartoons etc were banned in Sweden because he didn't wear pants. In Sweden. Seriously.

As far as changing the team logo goes, yeah, I can see why. The Chicago Blackhawks did theirs up right. The Chief Wahoo name and character on the other hand, I can understand why some would see it as racist. I've never been a fan of it myself for a couple of reasons.

I agree with you completely. The Blackhawks did it properly, and to the best of my knowledge, have never received a complaint from any but the chronic malcontents.

In a similar vain, the NCAA a few years back forbade all Indian and tribal representations in the team names and logos of college teams. They rapidly received letters from the President and the traditional Chief of the Seminoles, saying in effect, "We like the Florida State Seminoles, we consider their use of our name and representations respectful, we have a great relationship with them, and we want it to stay that way. We're the Seminoles. We have the right to speak." The NCAA wisely cut a waiver for Florida State.

Do the Atlanta Braves fans still do that gawd awful Tomahawk Chop routine? I remember see Jane Fonda doing it when she was married to Ted Turner and she's the self-styled queen of politically correct.

That's a good point JLM. Being heavily involved with natives, that is something I have NEVER heard ever.

If you marketed a 2 dollar tallboy with any of the native looking logos on it, it would sell out every month. I don't mean that badly, It's like any team supporter would do with his favorite team's merch.

New poll 9 out of 10 natives NOT offended by redskin logo.

Yet another nuttin burgher from the "global warming, hillary will win, trump will be impeached," file

It's "whitey" again deciding what's best for the "natives". Honestly, will we ever learn? Why don't we actually try ASKING them if they're offended and THEN act accordingly. Geesh!!
