If you like Famoso, hit Tony's Pizzeria. And if you have young kids in your life, take them with you, there's a platform where they can stand and watch the men toss the crusts.

LOL. Every city has a great Tony's Pizza, don't they??? The one I was specifically thinking of here in London is named, guess what?

I've had the occasional tasty pizza, but they're usually made in 'rias that aren't in a chain. Personally, I haven't had one, though, that is as good as wifey's homemade ones. Even makes the dough herself. And she grills em then bakes them then broils them ftill the cheeses are lightly skinned on top. Nice n crispy on the bottom and the veggies are just slightly softened kinda like in Japanese or Chinese food. The meat's hot and the cheeses are melted. Just puurrrfect. :D

One of my more interesting pizza experiences was in Paris.... walnuts, roast potatoes, prosciutto, artichoke hearts, and cream sauce on a Sicilian style pizza. I have yet to find one similar. lol.

The last thing I want to see is cheaper dairy or any other food products. In fact it would do
my heart good to see food prices go much higher with quota for apples and everything else.
Farmers would then make a profit and be on par with other trades and professional workers.
We have to shut off cheap imports and regulate the supply.

I thought the problem with producers not making much profit in comparison to what people buy the produce for was the middlemen and their markup, not that the produce is too low of value.

As a farmer, that would make some sense. As a consumer, not so much.

I gather, as well, that not all farmers agree. Marketing boards freeze some farmers out of things they would like to get into, and others feel they're held back by quotas and regulations.

Neither have I!

And if you're not a pizza fan persay, then hit the Lebanese pita shops. They've got some interesting concoctions.

very, very few people venture past the chains.
Every kind of pie you can imagine cooked by Greeks and Wops who compete heavily. It's pricy but worth every penny No E indian run 2 or 3 for one crap here AT ALL and the chains aren't bustling because of the real pies.

If you love thin crust and are in Regina, hit the Freehouse for a thin crust, hand tossed pie cooked to perfection in a wood fired (with birch) clay oven.

It doesn't get any more authentic than a wood fired clay oven cooked pizza pie.

I love Lebanese food and yes Edmonton has the best in North America by far.
