If the Taliban can have broadband in caves why wouldn't I have it also?
That he and his cohorts have not been hung for treason would indicate that it is a lack-luster attempt. What % of the US 'masses' still think Saddam was involved in 911?

I don't really care for your political musings, MHZ. What I stated was that US networks do criticize Bush.

So Yahoo news lies MHZ?

It seems pretty clear to me that this station was forced to move the show from this slot, it wasn't voluntary.

"Venezuela has forced U.S. cartoon "The Simpsons" off its airwaves, calling the show a potentially bad influence on children, and filled its morning slot with reruns of the beach-and-bikini show "Baywatch."

"Conatel said it started proceedings against the morning airing of the show after complaints from viewers."

And put in a more appropriate time-slot, how many times does that point need to be explained to you?
Piss off with your condescending BS, alright mhz? I'm quite capable of interpreting what was said.

And you probably do, regularly, even the re-runs as you may not grasp the 'whole message' the first time around.
Well go ahead and post some links that show that, a search of 'Shaw' brings up an after-school time slot.
I assume you 'might' be (and I do mean maybe) less influenced than a pre-schooler. Do you make all the pre-schoolers you know watch it?

Actually, I rarely watch the TV show thanks nor would I suggest that it ideal programming for a child. If you read back a bit you would see that I took exception with it being labeled as "depraved".

You obviously have just cherry picked in the thread, why don't you go felate your self elsewhere?

As a Canadian what gives you the right to decide who can watch what and at what time in another country? Like the second link shows, it was moved to a later time so that the 'working adults' can also watch it, after all it is meant for people who know more about society than pre-schoolers. I still know people who don't let the 'youngest' watch South Park, just because it is in cartoon form doesn't give it a 'G' rating. What is the TV 'rating' for the Simpsons, I would bet it is meant for 12 and older? Oops I was off a bit. TV-14
I don't care what a country broadcasts MHZ. I will say it again since you are incredibly dense. "I took exception to the Simpsons being labeled "depraved".

That's not even close to what I said.

I said, and I repeat, the state has no business telling parents what their children should or shouldn't watch.

I didn't say it was what you said... it's a question I asked you. Because right now the US does regulate what is on tv, when, and what content is in it. So I was curious as to how you thought the two compared if you think the state has no right to do that. I frankly wouldn't have pegged you as someone who felt that there should be no restrictions on tv whatsoever. But I guess, really, I haven't spent a whole ton of time exploring politics with you.

Actually cartoons were not originally invented to entertain children, they just ended up that way.... if you wanted to get historical about it.

On a side note, the majority of motion pictures when the technology first came out was mostly pornography.

I know, I was being a smartass with Karrie.

Yeah, porn has a long history with early adoption of emerging technologies.

Where this is imposed is irrelevant.

Its pretty expensive if you don't want a digital reproduction, but you'd be surprised how many antique stores carry antique pornography.

Baywatch might be a bunch of men and women not wearing much and bouncing around on the beach, but from my memory as a kid, it still had morals, lessons, trials and problems people had to deal with in it...... cheesy as hell mind you, but they were there none the less. Much more so then The Simpsons.

Its less so now (the last maybe 5 years) but the Simpsons actually used to have alot of morality messages within them, sometimes pretty blatant,

(remember the episode about "Stealing Cable")

Prove it with some links to such.

And who is Conatel? It isn't the Prez now is it? It isn't 'the country' now is it?

Piss off with your condescending BS, alright mhz? I'm quite capable of interpreting what was said.
I have yet to see that talent in action.

Actually, I rarely watch the TV show thanks nor would I suggest that it ideal programming for a child. If you read back a bit you would see that I took exception with it being labeled as "depraved".
Is it suitable for pre-schoolers or not? That is what the 11AM time-slots are for.
How about something from the country in question.

Here is the translation in case you can't read Spanish.
""the Simpsons does not support an ethical examination" "the means are not untouchable. Them social responsibility is due to demand ". (Press, Conatel) Fernando Good Abbot, one of the most prestigious philosophers and historians of the communication in Latin America, visited the seat of Conatel (National Commission of Telecommunications), in which he affirmed that the series "the Simpsons" violates the fundamental human rights. "To the light of the ethical protocols, taken from the human rights established internationally, the series created in 1989 does not pass the examination most elementary. The xenophobia, the machismo, the intrafamiliar violence, the mockery and satanización of the Latin American leaders are at your service of the day. There is an offensive content that is proud, for example, in turning Fidel I castrate in a thief and to Hugo Chávez in a desperate terrorist to buy uranium. The Simpsons makes of the decay of the North American family a spectacle ". Fernando Good Abbot announced, in this respect, who tomorrow Friday 18, to 10,30 in the morning, will offer in the Celarg a conference in which will analyze the series the Simpsons, titled "the decay like entertainment", invited by the Committee by the Defense of the Human rights of Children, children, adolescents and of the woman, the Committee of "Mothers by a television without violence" and the Committee of Psychological defense. The philosopher advanced, during his conversation with the Chief of a main directorate of Conatel Elda Rodriguez, who "the means are not untouchable. One is due to demand to them that they fulfill the social responsibility that the law them guideline. This is an instrument of the social will, of all those that are defenseless front to the television. It is necessary to go to a interlocution with the users, to find the voices collective that they expose the psychological wounds that the TV them cause ". Good Abbot, that he will be in Venezuela by one more week, postulated that a great internacionalist current in the communication that promotes the fight against all blockade mediatic internal and external, the fight against the alienation and the debate must be created on the new languages. "As which it serves to us to have new mass media if we continued using the language of the pattern" it was asked. "the Venezuelans must understand that no debate around the mediatic terrorism is exclusively national. What it is happening in Venezuela in this field is of the interest of all Latin America. Even what it happened the 11 of April of 2002 had as epicenter the social communication and this absolutely is still not included/understood. Venezuela must advance to create Masters in Communication of State and particularly of the revolutionary State "."

You obviously have just cherry picked in the thread, why don't you go felate your self elsewhere?
If I was going to do that why on earth would I pick a post by you, of all people? As for the other, I'll start a thread in the cage.

For pre-schoolers it is, that is why it has a TV-14 rating, I'll automatically post that simple message again just for your benefit.
