So about this hurricane, it seems to take a course parallel and somewhat away from the main islands. Anyhow, it may cause tremendous rain fall and floods.

I noticed the following observations concerning hurricanes in general:

A- Hurricanes coming from the Gulf of Mexico: they usually go upwards towards the southern states of America: like Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida.
B- Hurricanes forming in the Atlantic Ocean:
1- If they are far from America and in the northern Atlantic Ocean: they usually go towards Bermuda and northwards and will usually fade away.
2- If they are near America and in the Southern Atlantic Ocean: they usually go towards Florida and the Eastern states. the wind coming from Africa will push the twister towards the American Eastern Beach.
C- Hurricanes forming in the Pacific Ocean near America: will usually fade away and get away from America; this is because of the common winds which usually blow westwards.

I don't know about all of the languages of the Pacific Northwest, but I can speak for what I've read about Chinuk Wawa. It contains words mostly from the languages of the Pacific Northwest and to a lesser degree from Cree, Ojibwa, Hawaiian, Chinese, Russian, Spanish, English, French, and probably other languages too. In fact, the entrepreneurial spirit of the region was what gave rise to the need to create Chinuk Wawa in the first place.

I'm not sure about that. records show the Chinese had visited Africa long before European colonization of Africa. The Chinese seemed more interested in just exploring and minor trade. I think unique historical factors pushed the Europeans towards a desire to colonize.

It is not inconceivable that had colonization of the Americas not occurred, Chinuk Wawa itself would have become the official language of a North American federation of some kind.
