Proving this is not about saving the earth but just a wealth redistribution scam.

Fortunately it is not a wealth redistribution plan, but that is what lefties would really love. Wealth is accumulated, but there is really no way for the government to accurately quantify individual wealth. A person may have millions of $ in assets but have a declared net income of less than $50,000, they would qualify for a rebate.

What this is, and the only viable tool the lefties' have is an income redistribution scheme. A person can easily earn over $100 K and certainly not be wealthy, especially if they are $1M or more in debt. This scam is as perverse as our increasingly "progressive" income tax and low income rebate schemes because it restricts the accumulation of individual wealth by penalizing those who would dare attempt to do so while rewarding those who don't.

I don't do links > Been on these boards since 2008 and have not posted one link .If you want links see mentalfloss Tay or Locustus .

In other words everything you post is completely unsupported by actual evidence. Forgive me if I don't take you seriously.

Not going to argue with a fool like you. If logic and common sense are so foreign to you it isn't worth my time. You will find out for yourself quick enough.

Logic and common sense. Two characteristics that are lacking in most people and certainly quite alien to you. But keep on posting rubbish - I'm sure you'll draw your fair share of attention.

Everyone is championing the carbon tax as excellent policy.

What it takes for a carbon tax to work

Finland introduced the very first carbon tax in 1990. The share of the world's greenhouse gas emissions that are taxed has since increased to 13 per cent, having roughly tripled in the past decade.

Sweden's annual direct greenhouse gas emissions dropped by 22 per cent between 1990 and 2013. At the same time, its economy grew by 58 per cent, which shows you can grow your economy and still decrease emissions.

B.C. is often offered up as shining example of a carbon tax done right. It's simple and broadly applied. At $30/tonne, it covers 70 per cent of the province's emissions.

So far, B.C's carbon tax hasn't caused a large-scale shift to public transit, but Rivers says his research shows carbon taxes are more likely to encourage people to move closer to work or to buy more fuel-efficient cars.

He says the bigger impact of a carbon price, particularly in Alberta, will be in electricity generation and heating, specifically a move away from coal.

Basic income is another very good policy.

I'm confident we may get that after Trudeau's next win.

Everyone is championing the carbon tax as excellent policy.

You are delusional. Even the small sample here on CC shows about 99% against it. Any sampling of the citizens of Alberta shows anywhere from 75% to 95% against the tax. Ontario is somewhere around the same level of disdain depending on who you talk to. Just because you and a few other psycho lefties believe it is good does not mean everyone does and does not mean it is a good thing.

Basic income is another very good policy.

I'm confident we may get that after Trudeau's next win.

Basic income? Is that where I work 60-70 hours a week then the govt takes 90% of my earnings to give to idiots like you unemployed and living in mommy's basement?

I tell you what happens when someone tries to take huge amounts of my earnings to distribute to people with no skills or work ethic. I stop paying, if that means moving off the grid or to a different country that is what I will do. You f*cking socialist are just a bunch of lazy-a$$ c*nts who believe my hard work should reward you. These ideas and attitudes are why there will be another revolution. People are getting tired of working half the year to support losers who won't support themselves.

We should have higher taxes though.

I will gladly support a program of voluntary higher taxes. I doubt you or any of your other communist friends would ever volunteer to contribute more. I doubt any of you contribute anything now because you are all lazy and believe you have some right to sit back and live of the backs of those of us that do work hard.

I see a lot of links posted on these forums that aren't worth the ink to print them . If my opinion on an opinion forum aren't your cup of tea , so be it .

And I've seen a lot more posts based on utter nonsense because the poster couldn't be bothered to fact check or find any evidence, but each to its own. Next time you post I will keep in mind that you probably pon't have a clue what you are talking about.
