And packaging .Gov. making the lion's share with taxes from pre-germination to consumption, followed by brokers, then cost of transportation.

Diesel is my biggest expense by far. Seed package is pricey but pays for itself in yield and grade.Gov. making the lion's share with taxes from pre-germination to consumption, followed by brokers, then cost of transportation.

A lot less .Diesel cost falls into the Gov. taxes column IMO, what would it cost if the multi layers of tax was removed?
Neither capitalism nor socialism exists in any country with a functioning government. They're terms people throw at each other in the usual tribal demonstration of hostility. They have no meaning to the people using them, as epitomized by the Texas woman holding a badly-lettered sign that said "Keep your government hands off my Medicare."Capitalist and socialist 'systems' have consequences both desirable and undesirable for the individuals they affect. Sadly most people are unwilling to admit this, but make a religion of a single ideology - particularly if they are personally advantaged by it.
If I wanted to crush my own oil seed to make diesel I'd be breaking several laws.Yep almost 1/2 price
Most farmers in my area are driving newer pick-ups and are buying new equipment each December. There is something seriously wrong with the whole food thing. I know not many farmers are making any money and grocery stores do not have a huge profit margin yet decent food is almost unaffordable. Who is getting all the money?
I imagine you aren’t interested in selling your produce at a profit ."Capitalism will save this world" ..... after the greed of abused capitalism destroys it? hhhmmm
lol
Instead of turning it over to the collective?
Yeah. People tend to toss terms around like they are weapons without actually comprehending exactly what they mean. Been like that for a few years.Mostly identity politics. There's a lot to be said for capitalism as an essential ingredient of a healthy breakfast. But since just about nobody here knows what the word means, might as well say "Vitamin B."
What does that have to do with what I said? Greed is greed. I am not greedy but I like capitalism. It's not hard to figure it out ifyou actually think about it.I imagine you aren’t interested in selling your produce at a profit .
Yep. Like sports. My team is better than your team, ignoring the fact that half the guys on my team were on your team a couple of years ago, and the win-loss records show that my team and your team are actually about even.Yeah. Those who equate capitalism with communism don’t know much. What does that have to do with what I said? Greed is greed. I am not greedy but I like capitalism. It's not hard to figure it out ifyou actually think about it.
Galbraith said, "In communism, man exploits man. In capitalism, it's the reverse". Why? Because of greed.
uumm It really isn't a hard concept to understand if you are used to thinking. I didn't say they were equal nor did Galbraith. But the aspect of human greed is the same in both. DUHThose who equate capitalism with communism don’t know much.
Can't run junk and make money. But are they making any profit or just circulating money? Now I know dairy farmers do well if they own the land because government controls the competition but what about everyone else? Most farmers in my area are driving newer pick-ups and are buying new equipment each December.
