The carbon tax is a tax on carbon dioxide equivalent (CO 2e) emissions generated from the burning of fuels in B.C. including gasoline, diesel, natural gas, fuel oil, propane and coal.

Nope. It's not fossil fuel based. Who is burning concrete? It's part of the formula.

Why are concrete companies opting for non'carbon taxed imported concrete while BC makers of concrete are losing their shirts within the carbon tax formula?

Concrete is a massive emitter of CO2. Why isn't imported concrete taxed?

Does their website explain why imported concrete isn't taxed while domestic is?

Why aren't they funding transit?

Be honest with me and yourself, you don't have a clue what is happening out here do you?

The concrete wasn't produced in BC.

The emissions were created elsewhere.

Calcination occurs when limestone, which is made of calcium carbonate, is heated, breaking down into calcium oxide and CO2. This process accounts for ~50% of all emissions from cement production.

Do you know what "where they are produced" means?
Yup. It means outside the formula.

That's great.

I'm sure they can factor in businesses that use concrete in BC and apply a prorated tax at the rate of which calcination occurs.

Also, it could happen so slowly that it DOESN'T FUKKING MATTER.

It happens slowly? You really don't have a clue do you? So if only BC sourced carbon emitting products like concrete are taxed why am I paying 30 cents a litre on AB,Alaskan, SK and NL fuel?

Also, it could happen so slowly that it DOESN'T FUKKING MATTER.

Concrete is the second largest contributor of CO2 emission but it doesn't fukking matter?

What does matter?

Because Brad Wall.

Also, there is nothing that mandates that a carbon tax must be limited to production in the territory and as I said already, I'm sure they could expand it or may be doing so already.

Either way, BC reduced their carbon emissions.

No they didn't. Only within the taxed formula but emissions across the board are rising faster than ever in BC.

Good. Ramp it up and off the deadbeats.

Because Brad Wall.

No they did not.

When they rise slower, it's also acknowledged as a reduction.

As long as it is sustainable, a gradual rise could be acceptable.
