This is the Ontario government's policy, which outlines the sale and distribution of pot to Ontarians.

Learn about our safe and sensible approach to preparing for the federal government’s legalization of recreational cannabis in Canada.

Does it really matter how many people filled out the survey within the first 24 hours? What's their point with that graph?

"Ontarians who responded to our survey reported a very high level of awareness and familiarity with the topic."

"Younger people and regular cannabis users were more likely than others to support legalization." Well ........duuuuh.

"Cannabis will not be sold in the same stores as alcohol." Cue spending spree on special pot stores.

I wonder how much all that consulting and reporting and drawing up of rules and regulations have cost so far and they haven't even tabled the bill yet. I do give them credit for being prepared prior to legalization next year. Some provinces are still hoping that it will just go away.

Won't change a thing in my neck of the woods. Folks will still buy from the locals. I don't know anyone who smokes and drives unless they are way out in the bush where chances are they won't see another vehicle all day.

But hot on the heels of that analysis came a second study, published in the American Journal of Public Health (AJPH), that found no increase in vehicle crash fatalities in Colorado and Washington, relative to similar states, after legalization.

The authors of that study analyzed federal data on fatal car crashes from 2009 to 2015. “We found no significant association between recreational marijuana legalization in Washington and Colorado and subsequent changes in motor vehicle crash fatality rates in the first 3 years after recreational marijuana legalization,” they concluded.

Sounds right to me. Back in the 80's when there were far fewer RCMP in the area and we were a lot younger, most of us would occasionally smoke and drive. I am happy to report no one I know was ever involved in an accident let alone a fatality. I do know someone who got a ticket for driving too slow though.
