Ummm I guess some special groups don't get be targeted by garnishing. Our staff don't get a say, we get a letter of garnishing from Revenue Canada, and voila, done.
So you support taxing welfare as income? Since everyone that is not making over $30 000/yr. is not paying their fair share.
SO you want the poor to pay for food our local store donates? Kind of negates the whole idea of food banks.
I know these conversations tend to get a little over your head but do your best to try and keep up
I wonder if this Dweeb is actually on someone's payroll! If so I'm sure he'd be delighted to find out what activities he's footing the bill for!
So anyways....back to the issue at hand. Canadians definitely aren't paying their fair share. Seniors clearly take more benefits out of society than the resources they add. When you consider the debt they've amassed over the last 40 years, it's clear. They aren't pulling their weight. We need to stop the gravy train.
I suggest a "seniors card" that a senior must swipe anytime they get a seniors discount. We'll be able to track what these leeches are actually costing us so we can develop appropriate policies.

Seniors voted for such things as 'Free Trades' which instead of the 'manufacturers tax' put the burden on consumers in the form of the GST.
Seniors should have to pay for those betrayals......

I'm not a big fan of the income tax (at least not the current way it's being done).
The problem with it is that a senior with lots of cash/assets and lower expenses but lower income pays no income tax. A single parent with two kids, no assets, higher living expenses and a modest income does pay income tax.
The GST on the senior discounts alone could add up to 25 million a month in lost revenue. We should find out for sure. Of course, it's not really lost revenue if the businesses are just passing on the cost of those discounts to the rest of the public. So not only are the seniors getting a break on the income side but also to consumption side. Considering seniors are the wealthiest generation in this country's history, pigs at the trough is the only way to describe it

They aren't benefits defined in the tax code but they're benefits nonetheless. Considering the rest of society is picking up the cost for these, the practice should be measured and possibly taxed
This thread is "much ado about nothing". There is one hypocritical chronic drag on the public t*t here who has nothing better to do than incessantly whine because he thinks seniors are drawing benefits thereby diminishing his largesse. Ignore the Putz!
You are just as guilty of the same mindset when you tell Hoof Hearted to get an education or tell me to get a job... There are also more instances of you using this same mindset that you then base your argument off of.
