I recall watching a short video of a police officer remaining calm while the driver that he ticketed went absolutely bananas! The guy ripped up the ticket and threw it out the window, and all the officer did was tell him to pick up the pieces or he would be issued a ticket for littering. The guy was screaming like a petulant child, but in the end he did what he was told.

Those were the days. Tehse days they go right to DEFCON 4 at the slightest sign of deviation from absolute compliance. We had a lady in Vancouver arrested a couple of years for--get this--failure to hold on to the handrail on an escalator.

There's just too many cops. They're bored, and this kind of thing is the outcome.
