BTW, what was that Il Volo (or whatever) thing? That left me as confused as the whacky Beyonce video from last night.

Oh and Nicole what's-her-name should perform naked next time, I mean, she was almost there. I can't believe she and her nasally non-voice will be hosting X-Factor. At least, the guy host looks like a cutie. #priorities

I hate Nicole. I really do. Lol So much so that I never even looked for the guy host, maybe they can Dunkleman Nicole. He's cute?

Il Volo, was wasted space, I'm sure they are very nice boys and ii Divo would be proud...but. DO. NOT. WANT. And we get another Gaga performance next week, now I like her, own her album, watched her HBO special, but do we need her every week?

bright spot...Glee finale after Idol featuring a song written by you know who.

I saw him in the HUGE promo they showed after Idol. His name is Steve Jones. Not the cutest ever, but he'll do the job:

I'm over Gaga. She's so everywhere that I don't even want to listen to her new music.

Yeah, Glee finale should be good... I'm kind of sad when Glee is Darren Criss or Klaine-less though.

I was never into Gaga - so it's so easy to be over her. Guys, I watched some of the show at work in the lounge and I saw those not too good Italian singers. "O Sole Mio" - think it'll be a hit? LOL. Also saw the thing with Fifty Cent and what's-her-name. And nothing else! Then we leave at 9 so of course I couldn't see the results. I know the results, but what about Haley saying they were airheads? Stupidly, I forgot to record the episode.

Anyone else find it ironic that Nigel and his crew - after all their talk about hiding behind instruments, and implying some previous people haven't been exciting enough - and their talk about having dancers, and all the exciting, state-of-the-art producers - ended up with probably the most conventional, dullest, youngest, least musically creative Top 2, maybe ever?

LOL voted, the comments are hilarious. Season 8 fans be crazy. I'm happy with those two being the final two guys standing. I don't think the songs they chose for Cook were my favorites to be honest. Also...no ANS...so wrong.

I was just thinking...both of them were on the same season, so it's different than duelling Idol moments from different seasons. If we're just talking season 8 moments, I probably wouldn't have chosen Heartless to go against Mad World - I would have chosen Ain't No Sunshine. (Just like Kris did in the finale.) After all, Adam chose MW to repeat in the finale but Kris (wisely) didn't repeat Heartless. So I guess for these reasons I agree with you, SleepinIn. I love Heartless, though. Will never forget that moment. The supposedly bland, unexciting Kris Allen. Ha.

(Funny, when I looked at the poll this morning, Adam was very slightly ahead. Then, about two hours later, Kris was slightly ahead. Now Adam is ahead 12 points. Oh, well. Kris fans, if you know any people who can vote, please ask them. At least close the gap a bit. After all, it's only one vote you're asking them to do.)

About who? I'm not even sure what that's about, so I can't really tell. She didn't tell anyone they were airheads.

That's true. Nigel probably doesn't realize it though, he must me so happy that his "Little Lauren" made it to the finale.

This is cool. Behinds the scenes at the Berklee Tour from a students point of view.

Re: the poll did you have any doubt? Lol We're init to win it but much like Haley we're gonna get creamed, the comments are hilarious. Did Kelly win for the girl's?

I just don't know what to say. Maybe next year they can call it Country Idol. They got rid of the only 'artist' left on the show, the only one who had any range of ability.

I hope Jen and Randy feel good about putting down a great talent while pimping 2 of the most boring, one dimensional singers ever to hit the Idol stage.

I am not gonna watch the finale because I don't care who wins I will not be a fan or following their career or buying any albums. I am not a country fan and never will be and this hasn't helped to make me ever think about it.

I watched the show this far, I'm not going to miss the finale. There's more than just these two on the finale, anyway. Top 10, guest stars, etc.

Maybe PoliticalNick means the final performance show? If it wasn't for David singing the boot song on that show, I'm not sure I would want to watch Scotty and Lauren sing 6 boring country songs.

I'll definitely watch the finale on Wednesday though, that could be fun. Hopefully, I'll have electricity at home this year, LOL.

David's video for TLG will premiere next Monday on iTunes (hopefully, it'll be on iTunes in Canada as well!). I love the concept and how they integrated the band in that video in a non-traditional way. More info on MJ's:

Well, maybe he means that - I don't know. You could be right. He said he isn't going to watch because he doesn't "care who wins". So I just assumed he was referring to the episode where someone wins. But I could be wrong. No matter. I'm going to watch both episodes, myself. I want to see how they compete, and whether the winner ends up being the one who was better the night before. It's irrelevant to me who the Top 2 is, though, because I didn't think anyone this season was outstanding.

Let me clarify. I will not be watching either episode. My wife will but I will go out to the workshop and accidentally cut my fingers off before I do. The show just lost all credibility over the last few weeks with the comments from the judges, I mean Jen and Randy, Stephen had no credibility from the start as he loved everyone. I don't know if they were told to push one contestant over another or were doing it on their own but it was just too obvious for me. I will probably get drawn in again next year, I love the auditions, but if the judging stays the same I will drop out pretty quick then I think too.

Oh well, Big Brother is only a month or so away and I have the playoffs to keep me busy so no real loss. Hope you all have fun.

Ouch. Hey, don't do that - you won't be able to type. :)

I didn't love Haley, but there was an obvious groundswell of support for her, she had momentum, and I thought the judges - or the producers - tried to kill it. I don't think I'm imagining that, right? Seemed especially obvious since the judges usually loved everybody this season even when they sucked.

I think this show would be so much better if they didn't treat us like idiots. If sports competitions were this unfair and biased nobody would watch. And yet Idol is top-rated! I don't get it. And I'm not just talking about this season. The only thing that saves it for me is that people can vote, so it's up to the viewers. If it wasn't, I'd probably want to kick in the TV, sometimes. I mean, voting is fair, so I can't argue with it. The way people vote usually doesn't make me mad, for some reason - but the manipulation by the show is another story.

Ouch. Be careful out there!! :) No Peeking! I enjoyed your opinions while we had them though, and I kind of agree that a Lauren/Scotty finale is going to be kind of dull, but I've watched this show for years and made it through the Jordin/Blake and a Taylor/Katherine (I think it was Katherine) finale so I can't let it go now I've made it all this way. Plus. David Cook. I'm sure there will also be adorable baby pictures of them both. ;)

It felt like they toned down their criticism of her this week compared to the past weeks on purpose.

So it looks like maybe Haley will be doing a new single on the finale which will be available on itunes, and if it sells, she could get an album contract. Or so goes the info her parents are supposedly leaking. (Great source of spoilers, those two.)

I don't think this sort of thing is especially kosher, I think it takes away from the winner and his/her single, and even the runner up, and his/her single. It steals focus. I really believe alnd always have, that the winner, regardless of who it is, should get the advantages. And then the runner up. And so on, down the line. But particularly, I think that since the winner and runner up are the only ones still on the show, they've earned the priority. They're still there, bringing in the ratings - the rest are gone. They come back and sing on the finale - for entertainment, for old times' sake, whatever - but that's it. I wouldn't have been thrilled if Gokey got a single on the S8 finale - so I don't think who it is should really matter, it's the principle. But this show has become so tricky by now I can't even keep up any more.
