Slezak just posted his interview with Stefano, and wow, Stefano comes across as a douche. No kidding, he's super obnoxious in this interview.

Good luck Stefano, but you might find that the post-Idol journey is quite a little harder than what you imagine.

I've said this several times already, but some of this season's contestants are cocky as hell. As I expected, James shows his arrogance in interviews.

"I felt like I was going out on top. Wednesday I had two of my best performances of my entire life. They were both very consistent; they were both pinpoint-perfect. "
James Durbin on 'Idol' exit: 'I haven't failed'

"Others had put their foot in the door for guys like me," said Durbin. "I feel like I put my foot through the door. Next season, they're going to have to buy a new door."
Durbin Day Still On For Fallen Santa Cruz 'Idol' - Entertainment News Story - KTVU San Francisco

 @ him and his foot through the door BS.

I always thought musicians bragging about their own music was kind of tacky. I actually hear pros do this in radio interviews sometimes. I think it's okay to say, "I think this is a really good album." But I don't think it's good to imply, "I think I'm the sh*t."

If he's really a heavy metal guy, they have a kind of image - they have swagger or are cocky. I don't think he should say stuff like that but sometimes I give him a pass because maybe he's just is acting, to make himself feel like he's the big rocker dude.

I don't think the judges did these peeps any favors by telling them they were the most amazing thing ever week to week. I mean they're all good singers, they wouldn't be on the show otherwise. But the thought that James feels like he's Changing the music world by singing Don't Stop Believing, and setting a piano on fire. Makes my heart hurt a little for him once tours over.

but who knows they're doing things different this year so maybe they'll really get behind them and promote their music post show. A new era for metal?

I agree the judges are ridiculous. They should come with a disclaimer. Something like, "Please take everything we say with a grain of salt."

So what are your thoughts on the Top 3? I feel last year's Top three was better, but that's just me. As a group, I mean. Casey, Crystal, Lee were a decent Top 3 and really, to me, the only actually worthy ones in the Top 10. This year I feel very different, and feel like any number of people could have been substituted for Lauren, for instance. She's pretty good at this point but basically I feel she got there because so many others messed up. Well, that's always the case. So I'm not sure what I mean. lol

I'd much, much rather have Haley over any of last years top three (or anyone on last year). Early wonky performances and all, I was just reading back to see when I came around on Haley - I started out not liking her at all, then I thought I heard something in her voice, then I did hear something, then she grabbed my attention and didn't let go. So I guess Season 10 beats season 9 for me. I mean Lauren and Scotty don't make my kind of music, but they've always sounded good and I see some sort of country music promise in them. Last year I never really got Casey at all, and Lee and Crystal got less interesting for me as the season went on.

so Season 10 FTW.

I'm definitely with SleepinIn as far as Haley goes, but I think I'd rather have Crystal and Lee than Scotty and Lauren. At least, they had some maturity (I'd still prefer it if Idol increased the age to 18 ) and they were doing music that sometimes was better suited to my tastes! Scotty is like a caricature of a country singer to me and Lauren, well, Lauren is just too young. But I much much prefer Haley to any of last year's contestants.

I still think Lauren is too young too. I don't know if I'd trade her for Lee. :) (who I continue to pick on...sorry Lee...Loved Annabelle...where did that guy go?)

where did that guy go?

Very good question. Annabelle is such a good song. That's mainly why I give more Idol points to Lee compared to Lauren and Scott. At least, Lee does have some very good pre-Idol music.

ALIVE11 Artist Spotlight: Tobymac & Kris Allen headline Sat, June 25!

I never heard Annabelle. I was never that interested in Lee's music, I guess. I like Lee in interviews. He's been interviewed on his Asia trip a few times. Some people come down on him awfully hard, such as peeps who write "when he comes back home, though, it's back to reality." Like America is reality and Kuala Lumpur (or wherever) is fantasy. It's all reality. I know what they mean, of course, but it's unecessarily snarky. People wanting to see you, and liking you, is what it is. I don't recall anybody snarking if Adam got big attendance somewhere other than the USA. It's all relative, I guess. Anyhow, I have nothing snarky to say about it, glad he's getting some love.

As for the Scotty-Lauren question - performing ability is very iffy in both cases. Age is a factor but after all, Kalan Porter won at 18 and he often sang with a lot of passion or emotion. I really don't think just singing in a nice voice is enough, most of the time. It's about acting the song, one way or another. Especially on TV. I guess Haley is the one who can do this, of the three.

So you'll vote for her tonight, ross? ;-)

I'm overdosing on country songs. At least, Haley rocked her Zeppelin song! I'm so glad that she got to perform with her dad on Idol!

Haley has to get into that finale. I can't believe they won't turn some (a lot) or viewers off if we have to hear 6 country songs again next week. I know Scotty is pretty much a lock for the finale, but he feels so much like a parody to me now that I wish it was Haley and Lauren in the finale. Scotty just sounds like he's doing the same song over and over again.

Okay, going to watch... Beyonce's new video?

Turn off the Beyonce video! Lol That was the most ridiculous thing I've seen in awhile. What's with all the videos - are they that afraid to sing live?

also I'm #teamhaley She wasn't perfect, but for me she is the most interesting performer, with the most interesting voice. The one who's music I'd buy and listen to. also she fell of the stage and kept on rockin' dayum girl! I was impressed. Aw and Haley's Dad...

I was sooo tired of Country music tonight, but I thought Lauren was really good to excellent, and Scotty was ok too. (don't know who's dressing Lauren though..gracious me)

Yeah, I voted for Haley. I just can't get into her. I think she's a good kid, though. And it's a break from the country music.

When I was a kid (a little kid) I liked country music, more or less - there was a lot of it on TV. My parents had a few albums. There were always country & western artists who were popular. Eddie Arnold, Glen Campbell, Tammy Wynette, Bobbie Gentry, Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash. It was good music. Not my favorite but I liked certain songs. Later on I didn't get into the artists like Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton at all. It didn't appeal to me.

Here we are with the final 3 and here are my thoughts.

Scotty- Booooring, I am sure he will be a good thing in Nashville but so 1 dimensional. I can honestly say he is either haming it up and kind of OK or being very generic country which is what we have seen all year. Jen says "you've grown so much..", what? Taller? He is doing exactly the same this week as he did in week 1. That said they pimp this kid so much I think he will go through.

Lauren- 1st song sounded off key and like she was yelling. 2nd song was better. 3rd song wasn't bad either but more country, pleeeease. Randy pimps her too, "Lauren won the last round", what is it with these judges?

Haley- A very good rendition of Zepplin, not Robert Plant but who is? I thought the way she recovered from the slip on the stairs was great. Rhianna, I thought she might do more with this, I have compared her voice to Stevie Nicks before and although she did reasonably well I was slightly disappointed with this performance. Last song was pretty good again but had some moments while running aroud the judges where she lost the strength in her voice.

Now I think if you were to judge the whole night overall Haley had 3 really tough songs and did a great job with all of them. Scotty and Lauren had easy songs and were mediocre on at least 5 of 6 country songs so I would give the night to Haley. Unfortunately the judges seem to have wanted her gone for a while now and just keep giving her mixed or mediocre support or just plain bad reviews and I don't understand why. Well actually I do understand, they are trying to influence the votes to what they and the producers think is the most marketable winner.

I liked Scotty's rendition of “Amazed” and Haley's rendition of “You Oughta Know”. As I said before, I'm not a fan of country music style, but 17-year-old Scotty sounds like a pro and he clearly has a natural talent. Haley sang a pretty difficult song to sing but she pulled it off.

LOL voted, the comments are hilarious. Season 8 fans be crazy. I'm happy with those two being the final two guys standing. I don't think the songs they chose for Cook were my favorites to be honest. Also...no ANS...so wrong.

For Cook, Slezak should have chosen Billie Jean for sure. That was definitely his biggest and most memorable "moment" (gah, I've grown to hate that word).

BTW, thanks ross for voting for Haley last night. I'm starting to be a bit nervous for tonight!

Later after the show:

Aww, Haley! Her sing-out was awesome, she went out like a fighter, just the way she has been throughout that whole competition.

The Scotty vs. Lauren finale is going to be a bore! I'll only be watching to see David sing the boot song at the end of Tuesday's show.
