After all the BS the judges have been pulling, there could have been no better result than Haley making it through and James, the preordained winner, getting the boot.

I'll miss James as there's now only one entertaining singer left, but he was fading anyway.

I was seriously thinking of seeing them but...Idol finale night??? I think not!

Yeah, I know, it's unfortunate that it's on the same night. Especially now that there's a rumor going around that the 9 winners are going to sing together on the finale.

Gah, I knew this thing would end up putting Cook against Kris. How could I even choose between the two?!? I think Cook will probably win though and then he'll face off against Adam in a bloodbath. I love Slezak, but why, why, why do something like that that can only trigger some fan wars. *sigh*

Really?? That's kind of cool.

At least all of them are in the top 4, where they belong.

AINow page is not loading! I hope they fix it soon!

Okay, found the videos! Wow, that girl can SANG!

It's so cool that she got to perform with her parents on that homecoming day. Her mom has a great voice as well!

Too bad about the crappy whether, still almost 30,000 people showed up for her concert!

In your opinion (anyone) - were these really the four greatest Idol performances of all time? Or do they just have the largest fanbases?

Funny, though - it's all guys, all season 7 and Season 8. And the winner and runner up of both seasons.

I keep telling myself this is just an Idol-bubble internet poll. Serenity now.

Supposedly you can only vote once per day. Do you think people have found ways to vote more? Do they just have to clear their cookies?

Archie often beats Kris in online polls due to his devoted fan base - so if Adam beat Archie, he will beat Kris. If Kris beats Cook. I have no idea how that will go at all.

If it comes down to Heartless vs. Mad World - if people really vote on what is the greatest Idol moment, then I think Heartless was a greater moment than Mad World. Mad World was great, but Heartless was also about when it happened in the contest - and was arguably more original (Gary Jules vs. - supposedly - The Fray, though it's really not like The Fray). I don't know which Cook song is going up against Mad World.

It's Adam's time right now, he seems to win everything and will no doubt win this too. Also, he has the most fanatical following right now. I pre-accept all this, so I don't even worry about it. lol Then if it somehow it doesn't happen - well - that's a bonus because at least it's refreshingly unexpected.

To be honest it's not my favorite Kris performance or David performance. That's probably ANS and Little Sparrow, Mad World is my fave performance of Adam's. Archie I do remember liking Imagine I don't really remember any other performances of his. Is Imagine widely considered his best? Those three are my favourite male performers on AI.

The girls have a separate poll.

Cook's song on that poll is Always Be My Baby. I loved that performance, but my favorite Cook performance is definitely the emotional The World I Know. I'm surprised those were the two Slezak chose and not Billie Jean.

Heartless and Imagine are my favorite Kris and Archie performances. And yes, I believe Imagine is generally consiered as Archie's best performance. As for Adam, my favorite performance of his is still probably Ring of Fire, LOL.

Admittedly, I haven't seen the performances from before season 7, so considering that, I do believe that the right four guys ended up in the final four!

As for the girls, well, I've only seen Allison's performance, so I probably won't vote there.

ETA:

Slezak just posted his interview with Stefano, and wow, Stefano comes across as a douche. No kidding, he's super obnoxious in this interview.

Good luck Stefano, but you might find that the post-Idol journey is quite a little harder than what you imagine.

I need to hear that! It'll have to wait. Give me two or three highlights of douchebaggery, s'il vous plait? I've looked at his twitter acct. once or twice. He's very lovey-dovey with the girls who tweet him, and he calls fans and female fellow contestants "baby." Kinda yucky.

Oh. Shows how much I pay attention. Thanks! (Why do the girls and guys have a separate poll? They don't compete on Idol separately.)

I don't really like this poll, to be honest. It's all his choices. That's one reason I'm not all that into it. Though it's fun.

Thanks you guys for answering my questions.

I agree SleepinIn, as much as I think Heartless was amazing when I watched it live - I would probably say if I wanted to choose a fantastic perf of Kris's to compete with someone else's, I might have chosen ANS. ...Or Heartless. I can't actually decide. I'd like to go back in the thread and look at our reactions. That might be fun.

He did ask for suggestions on twitter, so to be fair, I'm pretty sure he did consider other opinions when he chose the songs that would be "competing". In my original post last night, I posted the picture where you can see all the choices, etc.

As for Stefano, well, the whole thing was very very exasperating! The guy has a very high opinion of himself. Mainly, he kept repeating that he "killed" the vocals on this performance, and that performance. He said that he didn't want to play piano on a cover, that he kept that for his original songs. He seemed pretty sure that his original song that he played in front of the judges after the Vegas round was for sure going to be a hit (um, no). He said that he didn't care that Hello was a big moment for Cook during season 7, that he sang it in a higher key, hence it was very different from what Cook did, and that he killed the vocals in that performance, etc. Anyway, he just seemed so convinced that he would go on to become a superstar.

oh wow! He's awesome in his blindness. Hopefully he's not really as douche-y as he sounds. I did think his wildcard performance was really good, but everything before and after was a wash for me.

  • During Hollywood week he sang an original - apparently that song will be a big song for him in the future. (look out for that America)
  • He wanted to showcase his performances without a piano.. wanted to save that moment for himself
  • That was a sacred moment and he doesn't want to play piano on a "cover" song
  • Didn't know about David Cook doing Hello, didn't care.. had never heard the song Hello before in his life.. he didn't do it in the key of David Cook he raised it.
  • He didn't miss the lyric.. they rearranged it
  • Vocally he murdered Hello (yes, yes he did)

Hee! I see we agree on all the douche-y points! :)

Thanks, you guys! <3

Oh, wow, I have to bring some earphones to work to hear this nonsense. Do you guys remember when I posted something about him seeming like a cocky bastard? I think it was mostly his facial expressions. In the pic the idols took with Kris, SL has this super arrogant look on his face - like, "No big deal, I'm as good as this guy." *snerk*

I'm still kind of puzzling over Casey being in Wango Tango. I guess it's better than just Pia. So much forcing of people on the public this season. What do you guys think? Do we really need to be *told* who to like because we're too dumb? After all, those two were early eliminations (Casey was saved - but not by us). Just makes you wonder what TPTB are up to.

What's interesting is that Universal is now the label. First association with Idol. People new to a job want to make a good impression. Not sure why Sony is out and Universal is in, but Universal peeps working with Idol are going to try to prove their worth to their organization by selling these kids hard. If so, the kids are luckier than the Idols caught on the tail end of Sony's departure.

Yeah, I think they are too. A nice fresh start. It will be interesting to see what changes come with it. Although didn't all the management switch too? I seem to remember something like that. I think they went with another label (besides the cash aspect) because Sony went with X-Factor and is releasing the music from their contestants.

Oh, yeah, thanks - I forgot that.

It's weird to see recently-eliminated contestants doing concerts while the season is still on. Casey, Pia and one of the judges - JLo - all performing in the same concert!! Besides, Casey and Pia have no music out, no recording contracts. Can't 19 wait a few months for the Idols concert? We already know Pia is getting the buildup. Is Casey, too? Is he going to get a contract?

I think it's kind of unfair to the winners and others who have contracts, albums, singles, and have worked to promote themselves - to throw these other people into the mix, who have done nothing. I think it kind of drags the Idol image down. Like, the more people you throw out there - some of whom are not wildly talented - it just makes it seem like anyone can be a star if they're on Idol - and it takes a lot away from the cache of being a winner (or even second or third place). makes it harder to promote winners, too, I'd say.

I don't know if Pia is in the mix for Memorial Day at the Capitol or not. She isn't listed officially but she's been announced elsewhere.

http://www.pbs.org/memorialdayconcert/concert/performers.html#gary

It just seems kind of blatant for her to be pushed this way - especially for this solemn occasion - using it as publicity or exposure seems kind of wrong. I mean, someone like Kris has done a lot, won Idol, toured, had radio exposure - so it just doesn't seem like he's there for a publicity break. Plus, he played for the troops.

Pia has done so little that if she's there it does seem to me like a "publicity coup" and I find that a bit offensive, tbh.

Strangely, this is the only source that has ever listed her (everybody else took it from there, I think). Wonder why the official site hasn't been changed?

http://www.prnewswire.com/news-rele...f-911-live-from-the-us-capitol-121505464.html

I hope she's not going to be a "surprise" to the audience - talk about drama.
