Won't we be able to watch Hedley's twitcam later? I can't sit here waiting for the thing to load. No patience at all.

What's von Kris Allen?

I guess it means "from" or "by" Kris Allen. Some guy seems to have sung TMYFML on a German talent show. Anyhow, it got a lot of press. (I looked in "Google News" under "last 24 hours" and that came up, I don't know. I'm desperate.) Either that, or Von Smith and Kris Allen had a child.

Hey, what do you think of this Andy Grammer who opened for Kris in the Pac.Northwest?

There are a lot of good artists booked for that Christian music festival.

I'm watching Jacob and Dave now...why don't you ask them a question? Ask them how they liked the Tonga Room. Maybe they'll mention Kris-Cale-Torres. I'm too timid to do it.

This stream requires a little too much of my undivided attention. I have to do stuff.

Ha I ditched the stream after they first had problems with it. I have no patience either. LOL I did hear them sing the Sweater song so it was worth it to me. They sounded really good too, they chnaged it up a bit.

That Alive festival is huge!

I really liked Andy's video when we voted against it for Alright With Me on Sophie. :) I quite liked him, and he seems like he's really nice too. Plus he liked Kris so I like him for that too. LOL But even without him liking Kris, I did like his music and his video.

Speaking of, Radio Sophie has this poll.....

I watched a bit of the stream where Jake and Dave did a different song - I can never remember the name of it. Also, Jake plugged the new DVD. Jacob always sounds completely insincere when he plugs merch. Also, they were excited to talk to a fan called Brooklyn.

I never heard of the Alive festival. I like certain Christian artists like Warren Barfield, and those crazy Family Force 5 guys (I think I've linked to them before). Generally I don't like the idea of religious-inspired pop music. Kris doesn't do Christain music but LLWD did get airplay on Christian charts.

The rest of the night I spent getting dissed and/or needled by an idiot on a blog (not MJ's) and it made me so annoyed.

It's not really my thing either. I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to a religion based music channel for instance. But ultimately it's about the music for me, so if there's a song I like that's religious, or if it's about drinking in a club and I like it, then I just like it.

I've never heard of Alive either BTW.

Me too. Some of the music I like surprises even me. Ha. You know the crazy tastes I have if you ever see what I post on twitter. Everything from show tunes to mathcore. Yes, Virginia, there is a type of music called mathcore.

Try not to let idiots get to you. They're idiots afterall.

You're right. The idiots can really get you down. Especially when they're being idoits.

PS. Apparenetly The Truth is a hit somewhere - because, have you noticed all of all the people tweeting about listrening to it?

And idoits = idiots, in this case.

Not much going on, here, lately. What else have you guys been up to? Christmas shopping?

I just saw this on twitter, and I must agree it seems inexplicable.

@VH1plz explain how Kris Allen's LLWD didn't make your Top 40 show? It was #1 on your countdown twice & was on Top 20 for WEEKS

How could it not make the Top 40? There are only 52 weeks in the year and it was #1 for two of them, in the top 5 or top 10 for several of them, and it stayed in the Top 20 for the full length of time allowable.

Vh1 needs more Mathcore apparently.. or just math. I agree it's wack that it's not in the top 40. I don't get it.

and yes, LMAO, I`ve noticed a TON of people tweeting about the Truth too. I love that song, I don`t know what Pat`s doing in it, but it`s an awesome song. Kris likes to go slow I guess, lol.

Shopping, writing cards (by hand....) Still have a few things to buy, not too much. Malls will be madness tomorrow.. I`m going to Costco.. save me.

Maybe it literally didn't make the cut. WWFM was #1 about 5 times and still only came in at #33 or something.

And, hey, what the hell - just because I want to watch it again, and because I know you do...

YouTube - Kris Allen "Alright With Me" (A Thank You To The Fans)

Isn't that just the thing to put a smile on your face, any time?

and yes, LMAO, I`ve noticed a TON of people tweeting about the Truth too. I love that song, I don`t know what Pat`s doing in it, but it`s an awesome song. Kris likes to go slow I guess, lol.

Many of them seem to be from other countries so I'm thinking it's doing well on the radio in these mysterious places. It is a good song and it deserved better in the US, but I think it should have been single #3. Or #4. I was hoping the order would have been (after LLWD) AWM, CSA, and then a ballad. I really think that would have worked. And I still think the success of Heartless on pop in Atlanta proves it could have done well on pop here, and elsewhere. But I don't work for a record company and make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year to make these brilliant decisions.

Shopping, writing cards (by hand....) Still have a few things to buy, not too much. Malls will be madness tomorrow.. I`m going to Costco.. save me.

I had to use up half a day of vacation time before the end of the year, so I took it today and left work at noon (have to work half a day tomorrow, though). Anyway, I intended to go to Walmart, but I went to the grocery store, then I went skateboarding (in my old guy way) and it was freeeezing out. I had so much fun even though I have two bad heels that are killing me. Haha. Then I was supposed to go to Walmart, but in the same shopping center is a Marshall's, which I had to pass by, to go to Walmart. I stopped in, spent 80 dollars, and never got to Walmart. Now I think most of my shopping is done. I still have to write cards.

If you want to try something interesting, try searching Truth Kris Allen on twitter. Even more tweets than I thought.

Apparently someone waited all this time and just posted this now.

It's interesting to watch this now. Kris with the AI tour band and backup singers, backing track, or whatever it is. The AI tour...well, it was what it was. It was pretty exciting to see it. But to see Kris with his own band - what a total difference.

I forgot he sang this so (relatively) slowly then.

Guys, I'm suffering post-tour withdrawal symptoms. Not a lot to read, or to look at, on the internet. POST STUFF. ANYTHING. Idol starts in about a month, I think - so we can basically talk about anything until then. Canadian Idols, Canadian music in general, anything.

I had vacation to use up too. Slightly more than half a day, lol. I still have 2 days to use, and I'm carrying over what I can.

Kris sounds fantastic in that video.. but yeah.. SO much BETTER on his own with the band.

How about this? Slamming Simon. It really seems to be slamming the X-Factor process - which I don't know if I like either to tell the truth. There seems to be I don't know a more fabricated process to the X-factor. I mean I know Idol is commercial but it always leaves the singers sort of still unformed when they come off the show. X Factor seems to be about creating an image and conforming to it. (why am I so judgemental about it? LMAO, I've never really watched a full episode...judgey, judgey me )

I can't really post much right now but I did want to reply to you while you're probably still around. I probably won't be *really* around until tonight, though. (Actually, I will be, until @2:00pm.)

Um, can we pick another topic? Kidding, I guess - but I actually seem to be completely disinterested in X Factor. It's like you said. The manipulation seems so much more extreme. Also, never having cared for Simon I kind of like that we're rid of him.

Never mind -- I spoke too soon! I LOVE THE LINK. And I'm only on the second Simon diss (Meatloaf)!

Awesome. Thanks!!!111!!!111!!! But we'll have to wait until later, Canadians, because I have to do stuff right now.

Apparently you voted in the poll? I don't think you can see the results without voting. Okay, so I voted and now I see the results. How come LLWD is not on this poll, either? What's going on, here?

I'm rather tired so I doubt I'll make much sense, but I wanted to talk about the LLWD video being absent from the VH1 Top 40 of the year. I asked this on MJ's (and I don't know if anyone answered - because I left): was any other song/video that had the credentials of LLWD left off the list? I. e., was there any other song this that made #1 on VH1 more than once, and was on the Top 20 for 20 weeks, that didn't make the countdown?

I don't think we ever talked about this so I'm talking about it now, half a day late. I know you were as surprised as I was.

There is one thing that I've seen happen many times on MJ's. People don't know the reasons for something (like this). So they make up reasons. And I swear, within half an hour, everyone is talking about these basically fictional reasons like they're facts. (It's similar to the way rumors spread.) I believe more than one person thought that because Kris lacks "media exposure," that is the reason VH1 left him off the list. First of all, I think whenever anyone talks about Kris and his lack of media exposure, it's just a veiled form of fanwarring. Fans of another idol have been comparing the media exposure of the two of them and finding Kris lacking for about a year and a half. It is a constant refrain. Virtually everything, all the time, is put down to media exposure, or lack of it, there. By a certain faction.

Anyhow, this got repeated a few times, so I suggested there were others who made the list whose media exposure is not high. Mainly because it's true, but also because I don't buy that speculation as to why Kris was not on the list (for one thing, LLWD has been on several year-end "top" lists, so I guess those media outlets didn't get the memo). I mentioned Jack Johnson and I forget who else - people you don't see on TV or in the gossip columns a lot. A Kris fan then pointed out that JJ does have a lot of exposure because his tours do really well. I don't disagree (I'm assuming it's true), but that has nothing to do with media exposure. Another Kris fan then stated that Kris has also had exposure from his recent tour, and the first Kris fan stated that neither the BNL nor the Lifehouse tours sold well. The second fan pointed out that Kris has had a lot of recent media exposure, and the first fan found fault with that, as well.
Etc.

At this point, I was also in the argument, but I bowed out before long. Because by then I could not see how Kris not being on the VH1 Top 40 countdown was somehow related to the fact that some of Lifehouse's tour dates were not sold out. It seemed ridculous.

To me, this is what happens when someone with an insupportable conclusion based on a shaky premise tries to defend it to the death. Instead of just saying, "Oh, I could be wrong." "Maybe it's more complicated than that." "I hadn't thought of that." etc. I. e., accepting that they don't (and can't) know everything.

I don't know what you think, but it's been my policy for a while now to automatically question these guesses people make on MJ's blog about everything - guess that, two days later, they are referring to as foregone conclusions. (I. e. "I thought we agreed that the reason this happened was...") (Nope. I didn't agree. I do not agree. I can say, "I don't know." and feel perfectly okay with that.)

So I don't know the reason, or reasons. Thing is, I noticed a while ago that VH1 isn't especially enamored of Kris. Or maybe I'm assuming Jim Shearer (I think that's the DJ's name?) is representing the VH1 viewpoint in some of the things he says. I remember him telling Adam that on AI he was miles above the others in the Top 10. I'm not sure if it was he or someone else who referred to the others as "still swimming in the kiddie pool." I think Kris had a video on the Top 20 countdown at the time. Apparently Shearer or his producer weren't too concerned about alienating Kris's fans. Anyhow, the disrespect was probably inadvertant, but odd, anyhow.

PS - I forgot to talk about the Simon Cowell thing.

I always hate to read the prejudiced views of musicians about the contestants on AI. I'm surprised some of these people, who I admire (some, anyhow), are so closed minded about newcomers or hopefuls (I assume they were also newcomers and hopefuls, once). Because that's all some of these contestants are. Talented people looking for a break. I agree some are hacks, but some are not, that's all. It always makes me frustrated to read stuff like that.

As for their remarks about Simon, I'm surprised they were so vocal. I also often wonder what Simons's qualifications are. Or what makes him an authority. But it's not the US Olympics of Singing, and it doesn't really matter. Because it's just show business. He has succeeded in making people believe he's an authority, and in the great snake oil selling sweepstakes, he has gotten the suckers to buy what he sells.

PPS - I think Tiger92 has snuck back on to MJ's blog using an alias. Pretty sure I recognize that delightful writing style.

I thought the VH1 list was odd for a number of reasons - one of which was the fact that LLWD wasn't on it. I mean it was on the VH1 countdown for 20 weeks but doesn't make it anywhere within the top 40??? Odd. Number two was the King's of Leon song that did make the list. Am I missing something ? Was that song a big hit? Because I don't know if I've ever heard it. Also Pink's Raise a Glass. I LOVE that song, but how is it #9? The song came out like a month ago. How isn't WWFM higher? Whatever though. I don't care all that much, truthfully. They've done a lot of good things for Kris too.

It's funny though that the entire thread is solely talking about LLWD not making the list. :)

I liked what you had to say too. It's not a personal thing, it's not hurting me, it just should have been on the list.

It frustates me too. I don't understand people how people can be so narrow in their thinking.

Oh and the facebook poll.. did you see that Hedley's Perfect is #2 in a poll for song of the decade??? LOL 2nd only to Adam. Oh Idol this is why the other rockstars hate you so.

oh, and Hedley's gaining on Adam. 24% to 26% LMAO so ridiculous.

Yeah, and as I said, why can't Kris fans vote on that list? Why no LLWD? Who created this cruddy list?? lol

yes, I agree it was *interesting* that the whole thread was was about LLWD. lol (I'm not sure what you meant about WWFM - that it should be higher than Pink's song. I thought WWFM was #4.) (I don't have the list handy). The mystery to me is that IIHY is on the list and LLWD is not. That seems completely unfair to me.

I'm glad you liked what I said on MJ's. I'm really not personally invested in VH1's year end list. If people are anything like me, they pay little to no attention to any of this sh*t unless they tard for someone in particular. Publicity-wise, it was much more important that Kris got all that exposure on their poll and on their TV show for weeks.

Goom radio is supposedly adding AWM (according to twitter). Is this the first actual add? (crazy as that sounds...)

I'm really fairly certain the person who said, in a certain tone, "Kris doesn't deserve to make any lists" (the one whose post I responded to) was/is Tiger92. If not it's her twin.

But it's alright, alright with me, it's alright, alright with me.

No there were others, just no big corporate blocks.

Goom had great response to their interview with Kris. They should - it was a great interview. They then aired the interview on their other stations. So yay! I don't know what their ratings are, but for me everything is a plus.

Well Hedley fans were celebrating getting the poll to add Hedley to the list so there must have been some opportunity to vote that we missed. I don't really know If I'd include either Perfect of WWFM in the top 100 songs of the last 10 years, but there are so many songs that are recent. So why not I guess.

and the VH1 thing - for some reason I thought WWFM was 8, so see how much people pay attention to these things? , not that much to be honest. IIHY shouldn't be on the list, but to be honest I liked IIHY's video more than WWFM although it's a total rip off of Electric Feel's video. But there's something about crazy folk in the woods dancing that I like. :)

Yeah, it's a rip-off of Electric Feel. When I saw the EF video (around the same time I saw the IIHY video) I remember asking myself if all videos were now going to have this same motif. lol

I don't want to give the impression I hate or loathe IIHY or the video for it. It's not like that. I just feel the song is worthless as music. As for the video, I just don't dig stuff in that vein, plus the video looks like a cheaply made quickie to me. Anyhow I have no problem with it being on the list, I just think it was less of a hit song than LLWD, and that LLWD should have been there instead. This is different from other Kris "snubs" because I don't even feel it's debatable - it belonged on that list, earned a place, and not including it was apparently a deliberate choice. So I do feel it's perfectly okay for anyone to question the whole thing.

Speaking of the blog, last night: I had to shake my head. Some of the diehards couldn't even find it in their miserly hearts to say it was a shame LLWD wasn't there.

Goom! That reminds me - I couldn't find that interview with Kris. It's good? Can you give me a link? Meanwhile I'll try to Google it.

"September" by Daughtry was less of a hit song than "If I Had You". So why don't you complain about "September" being in the top 40?
