I'm happy about it, but also jealous that I don't get a live version of IIO. LOL -- Although when you look at the video for AWM.. they're in a studio.. things that make you go ... hmmmmm. So I'm actually excited that they are thinking about disc 2. You know Kris is going to take his time with it this time since he didn't get that chance last time. Did you read Cale's chat yesterday at KA addicts? It was really interesting. Cale's such a sweetheart.

I was just about to write I had no idea what you meant by "they're in a studio" in the AWM video. Then I remembered. They were in a studio! Ha. I had forgeotten that - but, guess what? The studio also intrigued me when I first watched the video. Then I forgot all about it. The question I have is: why was the camera in the studio with them?

I tend to be sort of methodical so I don't really think about disc #2 at all. I just think about AWM at this point. Want to know something? I can't even listen to Mix104.1 because literally any time I turn it on I get annoyed the song I'm hearing is not AWM. I find myself thinking: AWM is not that different from this song. AWM is as good as this song. AWM is better than this song. Etc.

From what I understand about radio, after Thanksgiving there's a freeze until after New Year re new material.

I don't think it sounds like me, either. It sounds just like Kerry. She's the only one who keeps harping on things like Kris never being on Oprah! Who gives a flying f*ck?? I wonder if she was also the troll on the TWoP forum? I think she's a lot of people. I suppose there must be other trolls, but it all starts to sound the same after a while - because it is the same.

Anyhow - good luck to Adam - I hope he gets on Oprah five more times. But that acoustic EP bugs me. Kris has always done acoustic performances; Adam's were mostly for radio publicity, and the like. I don't think I remember any acoustic performances of his, pre-Idol, by choice rather than necessity. I think he has a lot of nerve to present himself as an acoustic artist at this point. But then, he just has a lot of nerve, period.

Interesting that the E! True Hollywood Thingamajig is on opposite the AMAs. Wonder what will win in the ratings?

ETA: Usually, when I search Kris on twitter it's a lot of positive stuff, but since that E! True Etc. thing is on, there are a few Adam fans tweeting negative stuff. (I don't hink I need to rehash season 8 from a Glambert perspective, thanks!)

Yeah. Unfortunately I don't see Adam as a towering talent so Kris beating him was not that big a surprise. What was a surprise was that he beat anyone who was so pimped by the show.

Well, the AMA nominations are based on radio airplay and the winner is determined by public vote. If Gaga or Beiber hadn't of won it would have been wrong IMHO. They really saturated the airwaves this year. No one came close. Plus he's like 16 in 20 years he'll be back like the NKOTBSB and can have a feel good reunion tour with himself. Win Win.

I wouldn't put Melinda anywhere near Kerry either. Melinda has a grasp on reality for one thing. Kerry's out to lunch completely. There comes a time when you just have to accept the results of an Idol vote, and move on. Melinda's blog is a business really, she's selling content and advertising and what she writes is driven by what brings people to her site. Top Idol's snarky and may be meaner than I'd be at times, but she's certainly not crazy.

Lee is already getting comments like Lee is not a worthy winner" because his album is not selling well. If Crystal's album outsells Lee's, it would get worse.

That's always going to happen, and yes it would irritate me too. I've spent a year in irritation - LOL - so I know, but really, honestly sales aren't the be and end all to me as a listener of music. At the end of the day the only reason I buy music is if I like to listen to it. It's only the snarky comments re: sales that piss me off it isn't the actual sales totals. Because I really could care less how many Cd's they sell I just want to like the music.

Don't get me wrong I'd be happy about good sales, but it's not a determining factor of success for me. Although it may be to the music industry.

Yeah, of course it is - though maybe it's justifed, sometimes. Kris is really different from the sometimes cheesy, talent-pageant idol contestants of the past. I had an anti-Idol bias, before, myself. Before Season 7, anyhow.

Well, I agree, but I don't think I was saying that, quite. I'm not disappointed it isn't official, exactly. I'm disappointed he said "no" to it becoming the official video - which I assume means there will be a different official video. That would be heartbreaking because this one is it. It's just what Kris needs. (Though it was a tentative rather than a definite "no.")

On the other hand there may be no official video coming at all, but I don't think anything he has said indicates that.

[Wow, that Lambert bio on TV really seems to have brought the anti-Kris Glamberts out of the woodwork on twitter. Not that many, but still - way more than usual.]

Since you're interested in radio promo I think this is really interesting. I don't know why but I seem to remember this guy working on promo for LLWD (could be wrong about that, though). Anyhow, as you can see, Hedley's Perfect is being promoted to HAC, and there is Lee DeWyze and Sweet Serendipity - but under the Jive label, Kris and AWM are not being promoted by this guy.

The label must not be pushing promotion for AWM. I guess they decided to release it to radio and see if it will sink or swim on it's own. It's keeping it's little head above water though, and seems to be picking up steam. Kris is always slow out of the gate, it's always worked out okay for him though.

All this stuff about AWM has me on tenterhooks. I only waited a year for this song to be released, after all. And now it has all this fan support, plus the video is so good, and the tour is creating its own kind of buzz, on twitter and elsewhere - and yet the label is just putting it out there? - to sink or swim, on its own? I'm not really sure what is going on, and if it was just clearer what was going on, that would help. For example, if the label let us know they are definitely not going to support the song, we would know what steps we have to take. Or if they let us know the opposite, we would also know what to do. When people ask Kris, "Is the song going for adds?" does he know, or doesn't he? Is he allowed to say? If the answer is "no," why can't he be advised to say so? Are we waiting for nothing? At this point, I almost don't care what Jive is going to do, as long as we find out what it is. I'm getting tired of being kept guessing. It's not a great way for the label to treat fans.

Thanks for the info about the concert being acoustic. I wish it was the full KAB. They are so good acoustic.
