Sunday morning, I'm reading back over the thread and I think Michael must be the IICD producer, right? Okay, gotcha. :)

Trugs was playing darts with Cook (Andrew or David or both). Acc. to twitter. Sometimes I think Trugs likes to kiss up to celebs, or Idols more famous than he, anyway. He seems to know them all and hang out with most of them.

----------------------

I was just looking at MJ's blog and there's this picture of Adam in a long robe or tunic (or dress) or something, with the glamtastic make-up and strange hair and whatnot, and then I was looking at pics of Kris wearing a long-sleeve shirt with a tank top under it, on a hot, humid day. I think Kris is literally too uptight to take off his shirt in the middle of a performance, and just wear a tank top, because he's afraid girls might scream or whistle. Jacob Hoggard, he ain't. It's almost weird that he would wear so much when it's obviously hot out.

It strikes me as funny just how opposite these guys really are (Adam amd Kris). (Yet Adam isn't taking off his shirt, either, exactly, so you wonder if they aren't more similar than different. Funny, huh?)

I was hanging with my friend Kevin yesterday and he was talking to a girl who was dressed almost the same as him (slouchy beanie/long straight hair/cut-off skinny jeans/similar piercings, etc.). I guess this is "androgynous," although he didn't look feminine and she didn't look masculine. Kind of cool how that works.

I'm more cool with that kind of "androgynous" than what Adam is going for, I guess because, having been in theater, I'm still amazed anyone would willingly wear elaborate costumes and make-up to perform under hot lights, when they don't have to.

I wrote some stuff on the TWoP CI thread. Since Miracle Max asked me if I saw the MMVAs. BTW, I don't mind the posts about Theo at all but I always find it kind of funny how you can write a log post, on topic, and then get completely ignored like you don't exist, since the next post is so completely unrelated. I thought forums were more like conversations.

Anyway, I try to get a discussion going, there, from time to time, but I think it's really hard if people tend not to reply to the previous posts.

It's kind of like:

I don't know how the US is going to get out of Afganistan.
I know. What do you think can be done?
Lucille Ball was a great comedienne.
I think Obama is trying his best. But diplomacy only works to some extent.
I Love Lucy will be airing three times this week on TV Land. I'm excited.
Well, I think that it will be tough to make a clean break.
Did you know that Lucille Ball won three Emmys in her lifetime?
I personally think the entire Middle East could go up in flames and take the world with it.
That's true. That reminds me, did you see the episode where Lucy set her nose on fire? William Holden was the guest on that epsiode. Ricky nearly didn't forgive her for doing that. lol
Hm. Let's go somewhere else where we can talk...

So do I understand correctly? Adam just played the Borgata in Atlantic City (NJ) with Orianthi and Allison as his openers, and they sold it out (3,700). The "Glamnation Tour." And this is the venue Kris is playing soon with no opening acts at all?? How can that be?

Look at who else is playing there.

Borgata Casino Event Center Seating Chart, Borgata Casino Event Center Tickets, Borgata Casino Event Center Maps

This could be great, or it could be a disaster of epic proportions if they don't publicize it really, really well.

ETA: Sorry, me again. I have an idea. Kris's album is on sale at Amazon for 4.99. Everyone who bought his album should just buy an extra on and, y'know, gift it. Like those other fans do. Then he'll have sold over 600,000 cds.

I've always thought that although they are really, really different - there are areas where they are actually a lot alike too. So yeah, I agree with you.

I don't know why Kris wears beanies in summer or wears long sleeves.. maybe he gets cold easily. lol

I'm probably one of the worst offenders on this, lol. :) Sometimes I just have nothing to add to the Theo discussion.

So the Borgata concerts are in the same venue? Eek. Just looked. Holy crap it's super expensive too!!

I actually would :) but I can't buy digital CD's from amazon.com - US only. Kris needs to be a better salesman and publicize these things.

I think Tigger is only interested in posting news about Theo on TWoP, so I wouldn't be too bothered with it. The people who post there have different favorites too, so it's hard to keep one single conversation flowing. I wouldn't have anything to add if the conversation centered only on Jacob either.

David sold out the Borgata for two consecutive days last year, I'm sure Kris can fill it pretty well.

That's also one of the good things about the CI thread. I'd never hear some of the news on the CI peeps since for some of them I wouldn't go and seek stuff out on purpose but I do enjoy seeing it when it pops up.

I hope so. There's a big crowd at the show today. :)

I don't know if you're being snarky and making fun of the people who say this, or if you're serious. Because I doubt Kris would even know about his CD being on sale at Amazon. He's lucky he knows what city he's in today. lol

Yeah, I know. You're right. Let's just say, if people wanted to talk about Theo, there would be plenty of opportunity, since there is always a post about Theo. But apparently no one really does want to talk about Theo. So that's really the problem. When Theo is brought up, it stops all conversation dead. Of course, it's possible to have cross-talk going on, but that always seems rude. I for one don't like to ignore her posts and talk around them.

I've even tried to talk about him a little, or reply, just to keep a convo going. But even then, you have to walk on eggshells, because experience has shown that even the slightest remark that could be interpredted as criticism will be replied to defensively. Very pleasantly, of course. But it's like talking about someone when their mother is in the room. It can't be done.

So even if we wanted to talk about Theo it can't be a real discussion. If I posted, "Too bad for Theo. I really thought he had a chance to be a big star after winning Idol." I'll bet several people would love to talk about that. But no one will (including me), because you're not "supposed" to talk about stuff like that.

Anyhow, let's say you want to talk about an Idol other than Theo. For example, Jacob is someone at least a few people are interested in. Me, SleepinIn, Miracle Max, and a couple of random people who turn up sometimes. So we'll start a discussion. It's annoying to read Theo news in the middle of that, because it's basically interrupting, and it's off topic. If you're interrupted a few times, you just stop, I think.

Of course I like Tigger and she's very nice, and I'm happy she posts there, and I'm not saying she can't post about Theo, but it's just that something about it doesn't work, the way she does it. Maybe if she were more realistic or objective about him and less of a fantard. It's still a CI thread, not a Theo thread.

I just hope she doesn't read that because I totally love her! (Hey, Tigger, it's said with love.)

Speaking of Theo, I was dying to say I really didn't like his last video. I didn't know what to say. It sounded good -- I think I did say that. But If I said it looked really cheap and old-fashioned to me, I would have had to hear a defense of it. How there wasn't a lot of money, or something. But it was more the design. Not really about it being literally inexpensive. His stuff is so sexless, or something. He really needs stuff to be spiced up somehow. Very boring.

What do you guys think?

No, I hated all the rectangles, and I thought the video was extremely old-fashioned. It reminded me of when a talent show used to air here on channel 4 and they did these camera tricks while people performed, which they thought were cool but which were just cheesy. Also, I think people even said this on TWoP, but a candelabra on the piano is such a tired cliche. "Lazy Lovers" was good but this other one, I don't know.

Wow, I'm really happy for Kris and band. The San Francisco gig sounds like it went great. (It would be nice if he got a good review, too, but I guess I won't hold my breath.)

Depends on what site you look at. Some have it at 1600 seats, some at 2400 (the hotel itself has this) and some at 3700.

I saw a site earlier where you could buy tickets, and it was very specific about how many seats were still available and where. Now I can't find it.

ETA: Here it is.

If you haven't seen Heartless in a while...please do. because it is awesome.

But I don't understand why he doesn't go country! I need to hear him singing about drinking bourbon in the back of his ol' Chevy pickup truck. Not this r&b crap.

Yeah, if only he'd talked to Mark Bright he could have been doing much better. :p

Studio videos are cool - totally agree. Behind the scenes stuff like that really is fascinating to me. More please.

There's a little video from Radio Alice from yesterday. So cute. They go into Kris's tent while they are onstage - so you can hear them playing, they also show Lifehouse watching Kris sing and saying that they think Kris has a sick voice and they are enjoying the show. Nice.
