I was worried about the anthem, because I know people jump on that right away, and he's been sick

I was a bit worried too about the anthem, but Kris sounded as good as he's ever sounded!

To be honest, I wasn't worried about it. I mean, the only time I was slightly worried was the first time (Lakers), maybe because he forgot the words during the rehearsal! His voice sounded good the past couple of days, so I knew the cold wasn't a problem. And he's now performed this a few times. But I can see why you guys might have been worried.

I did have a theory his voice is getting lower (not a problem, anyway, I guess -- I just didn't want that), but that seems to have been some silliness on my part.

I can't vote for TT on the Boston page (I don't think), but I can on Rate the Music.

No, I meant can you request it? (On Kiss108.) You just have to give your name, age, and your email address.

KISS 108 - Boston's #1 Hit Music Station!

The station has a strong signal so it's heard from afar anyway. Plus, it broadcasts online.

I could probably request it. I don't know if they'd care since I'm not from the US and I can't listen to the station online - it's blocked here. :(

Remember that???? That hotel tweeted about Kris for weeks! LMAO. That was his first "show" after Idol wasn't it? They loved him. He's going to blow them away.. and he's still wearing that same shirt.

Welcome to Massachusetts!

(I'll watch Allison later. Little busy right now.)

Watched that AWM clip! The patter, etc. -- he just seems more comfortable onstage all the time. Little boring monkey-faced un-classically-trained coffee house singer who won AI by mistake seems to be doing OK.

I'll never foregt it. I was on vacation in Maine, and I actually was more interested in reading about and seeing that online than in going to the beach. That's when I knew there was no turning back, I guess...

I was really mad at them on that station (well, two of them, anyway), when they went on and on about the Top 4 being boring this year, and then one of them said Kris would fit right in with them, and the other agreed. It's amusing how they then have to hype his upcoming appearance -- these same people. And they do. Hypocrites! :)

I was just watching Lee's performance on Leno: Lee DeWyze sings “Rocket Man” on the Tonight Show With Jay Leno | mjsbigblog

Can I say how happy I am that Bandzilla is now on Leno? No big loss for Idol. Even on Leno, they're still over-powering. And they're just un-exciting musicians and I've never liked the back-up singers. Good riddance!

Having said that, I'm not sure why Lee is doing Rocket Man (assuming he'll do it on tour), it's just really really boring.

Lizzie comes through once again!

Yeah, Lee singing Rocket Man is an interesting choice. He should have sang Beautiful Day.. or.. something he did on Idol.. people could actually still buy those.. he would get 8 cents. Rocket Man - I do like the song.. but he made it slower which I wouldn't do since it's already kind of draggy.

I need Lee to do some Lee music. I liked the Lee music. I do like his tone on Rocket Man.

And good riddance to Ricky Minor on Idol. I never really did like that bandzilla. They should hire Orin Isaacs from CI. Much better. :)

Lizzie's the best. If it wasn't for her we wouldn't see anything. LOL

Yes to this. Since Crystal did something on Leno that she'll do on the tour, I figured it was the same thing for Lee. They were there to promote the tour after all.

Anyway, I'll blame Bandzilla for now and we'll see what happens on tour. Not that I plan to follow any of it, but I'll probably watch at least a couple of Lee videos.

Is it boring because of the way Lee does it or do you find the song boring?

So are you guys saying that not only R. Minor went to the Tonight show, but also the whole band from AI? Or am I misunderstanding? (I'm kind of tired.) I just assumed Ricky would be leading the current Tonight show band. Are you saying they fired the whole Tonight band and hired Bandzilla from American Idol?

I'm pretty sure I heard that the former Tonight Show band left.. but I'm not really sure who all went where. Some people may have stayed?

Did I tell you that I watched the Producer of the Dream house answer tweets yesterday? One of the questions he answered sort of had to do with Kris. He said that Justin was still part of the project and they would be following him on his tour with Kris - Justin is bringing a camera with him to document some things on tour. He also said the tour was about a month. So I don't know what dates they are playing together.. it could be two dates for all I know one at the beginning of the month and one at the end. Thought that was interesting though.

I find the song boring mostly. But I've heard Jason Mraz do it live and it was way way better than the version that Lee did. I still blame Bandzilla, they can ruin good songs very easily.

I'm pretty sure several musicians from the AI band joined Rickey Minor on The Tonight Show. I recognized some of them and at least a couple of back-up singers. I read it somewhere as well, not sure where.

I imagine he wanted to bring over a few of his own people from AI. He probably made it a condition of his getting hired. I don't know how these things work. I was just curious.

Today, Mix104.1 announced Kris was "coming up in the next hour" (this was when I was out, driving, a couple of hours ago). They announced him as one of the stars of Mixfest. I assume they were going to play TT, not LLWD. I never got to hear what they played. If it was TT, that means it's getting played on both Kiss108 (Pop) and Mix104.1 (HAC).

Also, today, one of my friends mentioned to me they'd heard TT on the radio.

As for Bandzilla, I'm not very sensitive to the details in music sometimes. I do notice people get drowned out, on AI, at times. Of course, we're not used to live TV, we're used to recorded music where everything is carefully mixed. I imagine it must be hard to have a perfect sound mix on a live show with a large band. I don't know if the band itself is always to blame. Let's hope things improve with a new band leader.

Yes, my problem with Bandzilla was a bit that they were drowning out people, but mostly, it's the treatment they were giving to some of these songs. I loved the CI band most of the time. They were never overbearing. For sure, the mix might be hard to do, but sometimes you don't need 5 guitars, 2 drums, a piano, 2 keyboards, 10 back-up singers, 24 violins, and a harp to make a song sound good. The AI band always seemed like their goal was to put the most intrumentation possible in a single song. I'm still astounded that they let Kris do some songs with only three or four instruments, and even let him perform by himself for Heartless. Look at Lee with Beautiful Day for example. I think it's pretty much a consensus that his version with only a guitar and piano was the best, but he got the "big" treatment for the finale. I just hope that mentality changes with the new band. Bigger isn't always better.

Ugh--a month? Honestly, now I have to complain (I was cool with a few dates.)

Why does Kris get an unknown like this for his opening act -- and why does Justin have to be on the bus with Kris and the band for a month, like he was part of the band?

I'm not that interested in his having a camera and photographing KAB all the time. I'm not that into watching Kris and his bandmates on a daily basis. They deserve some privacy.

I can't see why they couldn't give him an opening act with something of a name. After all, that does draw people to a concert - a good headliner and a good opening act. I'm sure there are bands willing to open for him.

Speaking of opening, when he mentioned in that interview the other day that Maroon 5 asked for him to open for them, that's the first time I'd heard that. That's great.

Don't forget the bagpiper! :)

I'm pretty sure they're not following them around with a camera. It would be Justin probably doing a video blog more than likely with a personal camera. So nothing that intrusive (I don't think). And strangely I think Justin will focus on Justin... and not Kris.

Yay for Maroon 5 asking Kris to open. That's a biggie. Especially with them releasing a new album in the fall.

I have to laugh at the faces Kris makes when he listens to himself. Kris trust us, you sound good.

On MJ's in the Yankee Stadium concert thread, there's a funny pic of Kris posing with a fan and they're both making the same stankface. I'd link to it but I'm too lazy/tired.

I know what you're saying. I didn't think a crew was going along. I meant Justin and his camera. So you think it will be more like Justin's vlogs on IICD? Okay, I get it.

A month? That's major. I feel bad Kris has to have this guy along on the tour bus. That, more than anything, bothers me. Justin could throw their whole chemisty off. I suupose that sounds very new age, or something. lol. Their chakras will become unaligned. Their auras might be messed with.

I don't know what went on on the MJ's Glamnation thread. Some kind of Kris bashing, which was deleted very fast. Any clues?

I think I saw that picture earlier. Was it a youngish guy?

True, but another thing that Michael said was that Justin was a really nice guy. So who knows? Kris has spent time with him personally - I think Justin picked him up when he visited the dream house - and I think Kris is a really good judge of character. So maybe Justin gets a bad rap? I don't really know, but I've never thought Kris was a pushover and he's pretty honest with his reactions. So if he isn't happy about Justin being there I'm sure we'll know.

I didn't see anything, but I'm sure we can guess the familiar refrain. :)
