I don't understand why they de-pimped Crystal starting a few weeks ago (when she was actually great, I thought). I wonder if it has to do with her being somehow a risky choice. Maybe her health isn't good enough, or maybe she's a pain in the ass. To them, I mean. I'm not sure she's a team player, and maybe her emotional "I'm quitting" thing a while back scared them. After all, they can't have an Idol who might quit the tour, or quit performing after the tour, not support her album, whatever. I can see them being worried about this. The person has to be committed to it.

I kind of think she was one of those. I. e., someone they worried about. I'm not saying she's a bad person, but she's a little odd and doesn't seem like who they'd want as an Idol. Lee doesn't, either, but I think they took him as a "best second choice."

But, seriously, they didn't have time for Ryan to talk to him? And they skipped the chorus before the bridge. The transition was kind of weird.

Lee has a leg up already he didn't get saddled with the No Boundaries song. Now if he can sing it in key.. it's all gravy.

And Kris can start his tour!!! Whoot!!

I think they over pimped Crystal at the beginning (she was really good but they went overboard.. as they do) and then they realized there was zero competition for her.. so they started to overpimp Lee.. and then.. Crystal actually did falter.. and then Lee's a boy.. and he's very commercial sounding.. Boom Lee wins.

But, seriously, they didn't have time for Ryan to talk to him?

I can't really get into Lee's Beautiful Day that much. He sounds different than usual. And it's over-produced to the max. I'll probably buy it, but I'm not sure. I mean, I already have U2's song and it's vastly superior.

It is over produced (as Coronation songs are) It will probably sell a bazillion copies. LMAO. I'm not feeling it yet. But then I'm in a pissy mood. LOL

Mainly, because they pimped Lee and never, ever pimped Kris. So I'm bitter, I'm sure you understand. :)

I do like Lee though..

I myself am not bitter; I didn't care who won, I didn't care enough to vote, even. I just think I'm giving a realistic assessment. I don't think winning AI should represent a chance to improve. It should be a reward for excellence. For evident talent, and a for season of excellent performances.

I don't really want to compare Lee to Kris. As in: how Kris improved, post-AI. He didn't improve all that much, he just gained polish and experience. The talent was very evident when he won and he fully deserved to win.

I do like Lee though..

You think? I don't think so. People should just buy the U2 version. Lee doesn't even sound that good on it.

I'm in the "I don't care" camp. I understand the bitterness and I don't understand that they (seem to) prefer(ed) Lee to Kris, but I think it won't matter in the end. I like Lee, but I don't see a mega-star in that guy. This season was one to forget and I think everyone feels like that (or almost).

Ugh, the asshole who is the "Idol guy" on channel 25 said Lee is going to "join the likes of Kris Allen and Taylor Hicks." I want to slam a brick over this guys head.

Ryan didn't really pimp anybody. I think they had no time to say anything.

I didn't like this show. Did you guys? (The finale.) It lacked magic.
I wonder if Adam really did have a hissy and refuse to appear in the group song, after they didn't let him and his dancers perform, or whatever the thought he deserved (or so his tweets seemed to indicate). Not sure where Cook was. Is he on tour?

Cook was at a charity event in Kansas City. For the Shadow Buddies foundation I believe.

I'm heading home. I'm supposed to get electricity back soon, but who knows if I even will.

I don't know if Adam had a hissy I did read somewhere he had vocal issues, and the dancer thing was something completely different.

Someone was sending horrible things to his dancers. In a chat or something. Gotta love the Idol "fans"

Yes, in the same season Adam Lambert staked his claim as the most original Idol contest of all time and likely deserved to win for taking the risks he did, but Kris Allen was a deserving winner of a theoretical American Idol competition independent of Lambert’s performance.

Kris was a deserving winner as long as he didn't compete against Adam Lambert. Uh-huh.

And Kris Allen was never that terrible, or even below average: sure, he emerged from the semi-finals based entirely on his looks (since they did the weird semi-final setup where contestants were put through to the finals based on a single performance), but after that point he brought it to the table and became a contender
