Also, Idol-related: the U.S. skaters who won the silver might do their exhibition dance at the gala on Saturday on David Cook's recording of Billie Jean from AI. They did it at the U.S. championships I think it was, so they might do it again at the Olympics!

Oh! I hope they do! That would be fun!

So you guys were...
Listening to Kris on the radio
Watching the Olympics
Watching YouTube
Listening to Hey Rosetta
Reading and posting on this forum
etc. etc.
...all at the same time?

I think I need Ritalin now.

I can't keep up with you guys. :) Oh, well, maybe tomorrow. Good night.

LOL!

I was mostly watching the Olympics, chatting on twitter, going from my computer to my TV, I listened to Kris for a few minutes, I checked if I had Much Music but only caught the end of Hey Rosetta! and only watched the performance that SleepinIn recorded (thanks again!) after Ice Dance was finished. And I was posting here. Multi-tasking is one of my strong abilities, lol.

Tonight, I'll try to catch AI and see Johannie Rochette skate as well, so hopefully, that happens after AI. I'm recording Lost, LOL! Still can't do everything, damn.

Live blogging, anyone?

Paige...was fair. They muxt really want her to stick around because the pimpage was pretty major. (muxt?)

Simon: "Best voice in the competition" (??) It's starting already. I don't know what he's listening to. Lil Rounds was better than this chick...who needs to pee. Thanks for the mental picture. She seems nice, anyhow.

Ashley Rodriguez is from Chelsea? I had no idea. My grandfather lived there when he was a kid.

Her voice didn't sound so great -- not big enough. I don't think she was any worse that the first one, though. I really thought Paige wasn't good. This one at least had a bit of connection to what she sang. Not good, either, though.

I thought Paige was awful. But I got a good chuckle out of the fact she sang All Right Now (Cook sang this during the season 7 semifinals).

Ashley was just as bad. She seems like a likeable girl, but I do not want to hear her sing.

Kris commercial.

Janelle Wheeler...singing Heart. Why did she choose this song?? She doesn't have the voice for it, she has a totally different type of voice. Dumb.

This is the point where I start to think... never mind the voice, does this person have any musicality? Do they have musical intelligence? A song choice like this makes me say: no.

That's three in a row who sucked.

I really like Lilly's voice and the fact that she's different for Idol, but not sure I was totally in love with her performance, but I did like it. And I actually didn't even know that Beatles song, lol. More Beatles after the break?

The judges are not annoying me too much so far, I'm surprised!

Lilly Scott...Great song choice and vocal. I really like her when she's onstage singing (offstage, I don't know yet). I knew just before he said it that Simon would question her star quality. She has it, but I knew he'd say she didn't. Anyone I like, he seems to say this about.

Katelyn Epperly (or however she spells it)...I thought it was uninteresting, though she has a good voice. Kind of generic. I feel she's talented but she's really not my kind of singer.

Hailey Vaughn (sp?) I didn't think it was a good song choice (though not bad, if she had sung it better)...she wasn't as bad as Simon said but she wasn't good.

OMG, Haeley was so painful. I wanted to throw things at my TV!!!

Both her and Katelyn watched Across the Universe because both their versions of the Beatles songs came from that movie (amazing movie!!!).

I kinda liked Katelyn, but I agree that she's pretty bland right now. I don't really have an opinion except to say that her outfit was tacky.

I liked Lacey disagreeing with Simon, but she just did not sound good. I don't think the song was the problem, she just didn't hit the notes, and her tone is not pleasant.

Lacey Brown...actually, I don't think she was as bad as they said. But was that really Landslide? I hardly even recognized it!

Kris commercial #2. Was this the one ("leaves") that originally had music from another song -- the Script song -- and then it was switched to Alright With Me? I think so. Wonder what that's all about? Wassup with that?

Michelle Delamor...I don't like this Alicia Keys song much (don't like Alicia Keys much). I missed most of this because I changed the channel by mistake -- that is, I sat on the couch, and the channel changed -- couldn't find the remote..it was under the sofa cushion. Duh. I taped it so I might watch it later. Or not.

Okay, who gets the pimp spot? Wanna take bets? Maybe Adam will come back and sing in that spot. I'm sure it would feel comfortable to him. (/snark)

Didi Benami...wow, it's like Megan Joy, if Megan could sing!

I feel like Ingrid Michaelson is mah girl after her hilarious comedy and great singing in Worcester back in December. It's a good song.

I disagree with Simon. (Does he know other singers besides Adele and Duffy?)

Kara is good tonight. In fact the judges are altogether more credible this season at this point than they were last season.

"Star factor" "oomph" etc. -- these judges need to be retired. They want people to sing like it's 2002. Times and styles do change. I guess they're right that someone should come out and blow everyone away, if they want to get votes, but I enjoyed that, it was good singing, and I'd vote for her.

Heh. Michelle was forgettable. You didn't miss anything. It was an "empty" performance.

The show really has a problem with low-key performers, eh? I wonder why they chose so many of them. I can't say I was totally in love with Didi's performance (Amberly did it better, way better), but she was my favorite so far. I don't really see her lack of star power.

Anyway, Simon told David Cook he didn't have any charisma on top 20 week... David still won.

About the Kris commercial, I'm not sure. There's a fourth commercial that I haven't seen on TV and it may be that one that was using WAOMF.

I wonder why they say Siobhan Magnus is from "Cape Cod, Massachusetts." Cape Cod is not a town or city, it's a Cape. A region. Why don't they identify the town she's from?

Siobhan is one of those Idol contestants who are good but (I never understand why this happens) as soon as they begin to sing, my mind immediately starts wandering. Like, while she was singing, I was thinking, "Does Bowersox get the pimp spot?" Etc.

She has a voice. Someting about her puts me to sleep, though. No vitality somehow.

Bowersox goes 11th. (It's funny how some contestants you want to call by their last names, some by their first names. For instance, "Cook," vs. "Kris.")

Crystal Bowersox...backstory, backstory, backstory, song.

Perfect song choice, beautiful voice. I think we know who she is as an artist. To me she has complete credibility.

I guess I know what Simon means, but her voice is not the voice of hundreds of girls outside subway stations. Or even of hundreds of recording artists. It's gorgeous.

I don't know, Kara. Crystal is what she is.

I agree she might want to come out and kill some tune, in a bigger way, a la Springsteen, because I think she could. I expect her to grow or change a bit during the competition.

But -- once again, you're right, missaddicted -- they just don't seem to like this type, altogether. They like her, though.
