I thought Siobhan was weird. Her, the song, everything. I don't really have any other opinion. And I agree, my mind was wandering as well.

Katie has the pimp spot. The order Ryan introduced them is the order in which they perfom!

I LOVE Crystal. And she sang Alanis!! Even more points for her. I think, just like Cook did, she has to get her wall down, she has to accept that she's on AI and go for it. It seems she's still holding back. Still, love her!

Wow, they're going to finish on time!

Singing an Adam song.

She sounded good at the start. After that, she sounded thin. Amateur show. I don't know what a 17 year old can bring to this song, emotionally. Allison could, maybe.

Boy, that is a weak group of guys, right there. No so much as singers, but star quality? Other than hippie-boy, not much.

I guess I know what Simon means, but her voice is not the voice of hundreds of girls outside subway stations. Or even of hundreds of recording artists. It's gorgeous.

Yes, you're right. And what puzzles me is that Simon seems to be in love with so many divas and to me, those divas all sound the same. Maybe the divas don't sing outside subway stations, but still, they lack way more originality in my opinion.

So, you did like Crystal?

Katie, Katie, Katie. Simon took the word out of my mouth: pagenty. Even the dress made her seem like she was competing in a pageant.

LOL. When Ryan named the song, my mind immediately went to Adam coming down the stairs in that white suit!

Honestly, they could get rid of all the girls except Crystal, Didi and Lilly right now and I would be fine with it. I think the three of them are safe.

Yes, I do like Crystal. I can't criticize her as a singer. I know a great singer when I hear one. And she's a good musician, too. I don't think she has some of the qualities I like in a perfomer, that make me really latch on to a performer, like charm, or humor. She seems to have a lackluster personality. This is TV, so I think these things are relevant.

I'm just voting for Lilly right now, because I figure she might need the votes. I don't think Crystal needs votes. I'll probably give her a few. I guess I should vote for Didi, too -- what was her number?? I didn't write hers down.

It's fun, now that the new season has started. Voting! I feel kind of nostalgic.

Did you read that article about Kris and the other idols and the money they make?
Some of those things are awesome. Kris made 100,000 dollars just for saying "I'm going to Disney World!" when he won? Wow. Good for him! (Of course, he has to give $15,000 of it to 19 management.)

Yeah, I understand what you mean. But, still, it's early, and as I wrote earlier, I think she's somewhat holding back. David Cook was the same, his personality didn't shine through right away, but the guy has tons of personality. A lot of people thought Kris was boring during the season and they didn't really showcase his humor and all that. I'll give Crystal a little time to get used to AI.

Didi was number 9 I believe.

I'm going to read Slezak's live blog...

I brought out the notebook and took notes! LOL! But, I only watched the first hour because I had to switch to Lost. I also did not get a Kris commercial. I am ripped off.

Paige: I didn't remember anything about her, so I can't say I agree with Kara about getting to know these people this year. That could just be me though, I don't really pay attention til now, when the notebook comes out.

Paige had a bad song choice - that was the first thing I wrote down. I'm not buying that song.

Ashley: What is up with Ashley picking Leona Lewis and Jordan? That just seems like it's not going to work right off the bat. Leona Lewis (no matter how nice) is this generations nothing. Just sayin'. She's got a ways to go herself. I thought it felt really unoriginal. Wouldn't buy it.

Janell: I thought she started out good but it all went off the rails. I also hated the purple shirt. :) She looked terrified. Wouldn't buy it.

(Kris playing Creed AGAIN.. LOL)

Lilly Scott:

Loved the song choice, and what she did with it. It was different and interesting.

I would buy that.

This is when they announced two more Beatles songs after the break -- it's a very Beatles week apparently.

Katelyn Ebberly:

I thought she felt it, and she did a good job, it seemed a little country. She looked like Madonna in the 80's though. Very offputting.

I kinda liked it. Not sure If i'd buy it. So it's marginal for me.

Hailey:

I thought it was a really bad song choice, but I kinda liked it. It wasn't fantastic, but it really had some potential in there. I like Hailey, she's just so bubbly and cute, lol.

Then I switched to Lost.

True, though I wasn't one of those people. :) I thought he had a great personality, based on his little interview with Jesse Langseth. Plus, Kris radiates something. Maybe it's just that he's a good guy, but he has a way of making you feel good, and it's just there, somehow. It came through the TV screen. The people who thought he was boring weren't fans, after all.

I don't think Crystal is boring anyhow. I think she's kind of interesting and she seems very real and also nice. But I just think she is not necessarily a TV star type. I could be wrong, though.

So true. She could easily win, actually.

I think she made a mistake letting Idol film her going to get a tattoo, though. They depict her as poor and struggling. Tonight she said she tried out for Idol to give her kid a better life. My thought at the time of the tattoo was, "Save the money and spend it on your kid." I know. It's her business. But they did show that particular business to us, after all.

Heh, I don't think DialIdol's working tonight. For the longest time, Katie was the only one with a score. Did you get a lot of busy signals? I guess there was not that much voting going on, and after tonight's show, I wouldn't be surprised.
