I've been out all day/night, just got in.
Back to: The Script jumping 8 spots on the countdown from 10 to 2, while Kris dropped to 7. Kris has been #1 twice, so he has plenty of fans, who vote. The Script? Maybe, but I can't believe that vote is genuine, for some reason. I have no idea exactly how people could manoever votes so that a jump like that by the Script could happen so fast, but it's suspicious how, of all the bands, it's The Script. It's like people other than Script fans were behind it.
Speaking of which, is it just me, or have you guys noticed the seemingly amped-up anti-Kris sentiment by the more rabid Adam fans lately? The walkout at Kradison, the rage (no other word will really do) when Kris was #1 on the VH1 countdown (especially the second time. And Adam was still #2, after all. Not a bad position). It's sick, this hatred. Obviously I have nothing against Adam's fans promoting him all they want. But that should be the limit of it. Tearing down Kris to build up Adam? That's sick.
What do you all think about the Angela Martin situation? Ellen had her on her show and promised to help her find a record deal, Kara promised to write a song for her.. um, why not just put her through to top 24 then??? Weird.
I don't think it's right, somehow. It destroys the credibility of the show (it doesn't have a lot, but it has some). Because it takes away from the significance of the making the Top 24. Why should a judge be trying to find a record deal for a contestant who wasn't considered worthy to be Top 24? That doesn't say much for the importance of making Top 24.
Besides, most of the Top 12 will never get contracts, never mind the Top 24, yet a Top 24 reject should?
In my opinion being a bleeding heart is not what being a judge is about. You're just supposed to ajudicate and try to be fair, not become invested in the contestants to that extent. I don't think it's a good sign.
I don't understand what went down for the girl to be eliminated, but apparently Ellen and Kara wanted to put her through and were stopped by Simon and Randy? Is that how it seems? If so I don't think it looks good for two of the judges to sort of go beyond the parameters of the show to see that their wishes are met. Especially while the competition is ongoing.
I have to say I have never thought Ellen using her talk show as a kind of adjunct to the Idol process (once she became a judge) is a good idea. I don't think she should talk about Idol on her show, or try to pimp contestants or former contestants. She should just be entirely separate from Idol on her talk show.
