FYI on the Ford commercial featuring Kris, I work for Ford. The commercial yesterday was a copy of the other new commercials they have been airing featuring real Ford customers (not actors). Since Kris got a car last year, he is officially a Ford customer! Some people were commenting that it was pretty short but that is typically how long they are (they usually show a few together in one commercial, Kris was on his own). Still pretty cool to have Kris as a customer and spokesperson for Ford!

God, it sounds like the Kris fans are maybe starting to become as annoying as the Sparkle Cows. Did they complain to Ford that Kris wasn't on TV long enough? I understood the concept, didn't you guys? First they show Kris, and then "regular people", driving their Fords and saying what they like about them. I wouldn't have minded if they featured Kris in a second clip later in the show, but as we say in the theatre, "Always leave them wanting more." (Don't we say that, Adam?)

By the way, why did they post that thing about Kris on David's website? I mean, why did they post it there?

The show is pretty painful so far... the only one I remotely liked is Jermaine Sellers. He has a good voice, but I have a feeling he could become boring really fast.

ITA, I think he has a beautiful voice. I don't know if he could become boring, I can't tell. I didn't like all the "notes" at the end. Is that a "run?" I don't like that kind of singing, really. I recently read a post somewhere by someone who criticized American Idol for encouraging this bad singing style. I agree.

Did you guys hear Before We Come Undone? Haha!!!

Well, it was on that thread I keep linking to you!! The "Kris-Adam" analysis thread... which has actually become the "Idol Number-Crunching: Charts and Stats for the Rest of the AI Universe." They also have a thread for AI9.

No, I don't think that's it at all. The woman was only posting that to give a little explanation of the concept in case people haven't seen the other ads. And also to explain why Kris was chosen to do one... which is pretty self-explanatory that's true, but I don't think the Kris fans complained.

Yeah, runs. I hate them too.

-- so I figured the people saying that it was pretty short were probably people who wanted to see more of Kris, which I figured was: Kris's fans. Maybe not, though, I don't know. I guess I misunderstood, and the people commenting were commenting on the website. Not complaining to Ford. Right? Okay, I think I get it now.

I hate audition episodes. I like Canadian Idol audition episodes. They're easier to follow. I think I've said it before, but sometime before the Top 13 episodes last year, I almost stopped watching AI totally. I can't believe this show is a hit, sometimes. The first month sucks, usually.

Like this guy who just kept saying **** you to everybody. Okay, I get it. You don't have to give him the full fifiteen minutes of fame. Next!

I've been so bored I've been looking at Hedley interviews on YouTube.

ETA: Apparently that waitress from Billerica who was on the show last night (kinda tough blond girl who gave a bad audition) is going to be on the local Fox news tonight to tell what it's like behind the scenes on AI.

Why is this guy on? "Pants On The Ground." He's 62. Yet they let him all the way through the audition rounds to the judges' rounds? Okay, right.

Tonight was a real downer. I was looking at my notes from last year (yes, I have a little notepad with my Idol notes, don't we all? lol) and after the first two episodes, we had already seen a lot of people who made the top 36, and even the top 13 at this point. From the last two night, I'd have trouble naming more that two or three people I want to see in the semi-finals.

Most of the people there are level-headed, so it wasn't like "OMG tooo shorttttt!!!". Most were frustrated about the Kris (Idol crown) vs. Adam (superstah) thing from last night though, it certainly didn't go unnoticed.

Yeah, I'm kinda slow sometimes. At first, reading your post, I interpreted it like you were saying a representative from Ford was making an official reply on the David Cook website about the Kris Allen Ford commercial.

Actually the line was "A new Idol was crowned. A new star was born." Since they were talking about the showdown between Kris and Adam, and all, that's how they ended it. I feel they should have just said, "a new Idol was crowned," period. And ended the segment on Kris. Instead, they ended it on Adam. My gut reaction was that I felt pissed off. I wasn't sure why. There was really nothing wrong with what they said, I just think it would have been better if they said something like: "Adam proved himself to be a star, but then America voted and a new Idol was crowned." Giving credit in the proper order.

I can't re-fight the season any more and I'm trying to take it all in stride. It is what it is.

Anyhow, a new Idol was crowned, but whether a new star was born remains to be seen.

Isn't it funny how Kris used to have a hard time talking, and now he's almost verbose sometimes? I love it.

Falling Slowly...that song puts tears in my eyes, you know? It's definitely his version, the original doesn't do that.

Go, Kris, go, Kris, go. :)

Right now KA the album is #56 on iTunes overall and #14 on pop. The single is #16 overall and #11 on pop.

Thanks for that link! I admire that stuff he did. But I'm afraid I'm going to have to listen to that stupid song a lot, now. :(

Top Idol can be obnoxious, so I don't totally endorse it, because I don't like obnoxious, but I do like how it cuts through the bs occasionally. Kind of cleanses the palate. I kind of enjoy the give and take with the commenters (and some of the commenters themselves) more than the recaps.

I just read this on idolforums. idolforums is freaking me out. The pages are so busy. I know there are probably a lot of teens there, and they deserve their space, too, but OMG I need ritalin now. 8O8O8O

...anyhow, I read this on one of the Kris threads...

I was just watching some of the golden ticket interviews and there is this guy named Justin Gray who said that the most exciting American Idol experience was when Kris Allen won American Idol last year...

Oh, and SleepinIn, this is belated but yeah I totally get why if that other guy is a Kris fan he's topping your list right now (what's his name? I'm bad with names)! I'm too lazy to go back one page. Oh, yeah, Luke, right? He happened to have been the ring bearer at the wedding of cookcricket, on mj's blog, according to her posts Tuesday night.

Actually he was okay, maybe I was too hard on him. I don't know. I think these auditions are getting to me already! :-? That Justin Gray guy reminded me in a very vague way of the guy who finished 10th on CI last year (what was his name??), who I liked a lot more than most people seemed to. I also liked this Justin guy, after I got over the wierd way he keeps showing his bottom teeth when he talks. He seems kind of humble, and major points for saying Kris winning was the highlight of last season. Now I need to hear him sing.
