I think twitter is wonky at the moment.
I wouldn't be surprised either if it doesn't come back - especially with X Factor looming overhead. Which means this might be the last season of cheesy Idol goodness.

I think they hired Ellen for five years because they knew Simon would probably leave. The only way this would be the last year of Idol is if the ratings suddenly became bad. Hit shows aren't usually cancelled, especially a huge moneymaker like Idol. X factor is an unproven thing right now.
I think they'll at least get to season 10. Season 10 sounds impressive. And it will happen before X-factor premieres. I would bet on season 11 as well. Still, Idol is slowly but surely losing steam and it might get ever worse this season and especially next, when Simon is gone. I would understand if CTV saw that and said, we're not bringing that back.
Well, maybe the show will get a shot in the arm with new judges, rather than going downhill.
Watching the huge crowds of hopefuls always amazes me when I think one person will win it all. Imagine the confidence boost Kris got from knowing he went all the way and was voted the best out of thousands and thousands of people. Or David Cook. What an amazing feeling that must be.

I just read Jim's recap. I wasn't reading his recaps last year, but I get what you were saying about his awful jokes about blindness and stuff like that, ross. In that recap, he was making awful jokes about Alzheimer's. And right after, he complained that the show had pictured Amadeo as an Italian stereotype. Really, Jim?

Jim can't seem to help taking cheap shots. Even though I think he knows it's stupid. Even his comments about Kris's height are dumb. It's mildly funny, once, but he keeps it up. Kris must feel like rolling his eyes sometimes. Jim's at least on the right team, I'll give him that. But why he needs to try to be offensive with some of his humor I don't know. And juvenile at other times.

Sorry, I'm going to be contrary. I don't think this guy (Luke Shaffer) is a particularly great singer. He not bad, I'm not saying he isn't good. But I don't think he's a star. He bored me. I think there must be hundreds of guys like him. I know this is the stuff people say about Kris, which is kind of funny/ironic. But I wouldn't put him in that league. Pretty ordinary.
Yeah, I didn't say he was a superstar just yet, just that I liked him from the little of him I've seen. Who knows how far he'll make it anyway?
ETA: Just watched the interview from the AI website (thanks BTW SleepinIn) and he seems like an engaging guy!
Oh, and Sebastian Pigott got a part in Saw VII. When Oliver posted that on twitter, I first thought it was a joke! But apparently not. Good for Sebastian, but this is something I'm definitely not going to watch!

Hee - I put Luke to the top of my list solely based on his singing The Girl and his having met Kris and liking him. It had nothing to do with his singing ability. He's not bad, but at this point I wouldn't seek him out. (that could change - after all at this point with Kris I didn't even know he existed) He is cute though.

Kris and the interviews. It occurred to me after they aired how smart they were. First of all the interviewer - one person doing them all. Kris is way more comfortable being interviewed in person than he is doing satellite interviews with a tv screen and keeping the person the same increased his comfort level it also controlled the questions being asked. They asked about Simon and Paula but not at the expense of questions to Kris.
