I like this last comment on the EW article. Don't know how true it is.. but I really like it.

Ok, aside from Slezak doing everything he can think of to pimp Kris and this CD I can say this much. I know a very high level source at 19 Entertainment and he knows that I am not a huge Kris fan (he’s ok, but I don’t think he should have won). He told me that I was going to be completely blown away by his CD – and he meant it. If it was junk he would tell me, so I don’t think the Kris fans have anything to worry about
.

AND EEEEEEE!! Missaddicted you must be so excited!!! Cause I'm excited for you .. and I'm not going anywhere, lol. :)

That comment is awesome, SleepinIn! Yay! Not that I ever doubted that Kris's album would be amazing, but it's great to have that opinion from someone from 19.

And yes, I'm excited for tomorrow!! I will be meeting several other fans before the show. Just that part is exciting, imagine adding the concert to that! I hope David's throat is OK and that his health is almost back to normal. Can't be that pleasant to perform/sing when you're sick.

Or someone who's pretending to know someone at 19.. yeah, I'm an optimistic skeptic. :) But, hey, I'll take it.

Oh, I know - the fan meet up will be fun - you can squee together without embarrassment. :) I can't even imagine having to be charming and awesome, and sound good while doing it when I want to crawl back into bed and pull the covers over my head.

Oh yeah. Brain malfunctoning, definitely. I hadn't even thought about it.

Exactly, LOL!

The EW article was the one that featured the pretty yellow photo. (good move EW!)

I was watching MOD today and Marianas Trench was on and Josh Ramsey was singing accoustically. They were really good. Did either of you know he helped produce Carly Rae's album? I had no idea. I guess that's why they are on tour together. I thought it was an odd pairing.

If either of you visist TWOP do you get the peanut butter add? I have to say that when the add starts with "Adam made (picture of peanut butter) " it startled me.. Then I noticed it was an add for peanut butter. LMAO.

I get a Vonage ad on TWoP.

I haven't ever followed Marianas Trench. I've heard of them, but I can only follow so many pop punk bands from Canada at one time, I guess. lol

I don't know if the comment from the person who knows someone at 19 is real but it sounds good so I'll take it.

Oh, twitter!

The Sun FM contest won't happen until 11:45 Kelowna BC time (@2:45 am, here, if I'm understanding this)...

That news about LLWD being #5 on Z100's Top 9 at 9 was good. That's a listener-requested Top 9.

Q: In the battle of the eight Idol winners – who do you think is the best?

A: I think it's obvious – it's either Kelly Clarkson or Carrie Underwood because they've seen the most commercial success post-'Idol.'
...from an interview with Elliott Yamin.

So commercial success = the best? If you asked an actor who he thought was the best actor, I don't think his answer would be based on commercial success. And who would say the best writer is the one who sells the most books? What's with the music business?

Hi, Jemma. ;)

Did you all hear Adam's Time For Miracles clip? It's going to be a monster hit.. but it reminds me of Celine Dion. Which means that my Dad will play it endlessly until my ears bleed. So on the how well do I like the first 30 seconds... Not completely my thing, but I will totally sing along. Because there will be no other choice.

I do still think it will be the best part of that movie though. They must thank God for Adam every day.

I think the media is looking for the answer that Elliott gave. They define success in monetary terms. They don't really look to the intangibles, like the fact that there are a lot of people in the Idol universe that are able to make a living doing something that they love.

SleepinIn, you're probably better than me at telling what will be a monster hit or not. I'm very bad at that. I don't like this kind of rock ballad and I still find Adam's voice unbearable, so I'm not going to be requesting it a lot.

It won't be on request for me either. But, yeah I think it will be really huge. It has that power ballad thing going for it. And Peeps love that. Or can't escape it. :) Plus that and the crazy fanbase request line and it's a given. But I seriously think even without the crazy fan base it would have been huge with Adam singing it. It isn't something that I would run out and buy, but there is a huge market for it.

Michael Slezak had the best quote from his article on it. lmao.

"and it puts the “edible” in incredible"
I love Michael.

comment from a blog you may be familiar with:

OMG. I am so gonna cry. It is epic. I love cheesy, I love coronation song, but most importantly, I love Adam Lambert’s voice.

Okay, this helps me because I wasn't really expressing myself. I don't like cheesy, I don't like coronation song, and most importantly...well, you know the rest.

The combination of something I find most loathesome of all, in pop music, the power ballad (worse, a movie power ballad), plus several tracks of Adam screaming at various levels of agony laid over one another...why, God? Why?

Oh, yes. Movie power ballads, are all kinds of cheesy. I sort of wish Adam's album had come out before the power ballad. But I sort of feel that the power ballad is actually what a lot of fans were waiting for musically. If that makes sense and doesn't sound too condescending. I think I'll like the Album better. (and I actually haven't heard the whole song.. so this is a wee bit premature) but it doesn't sound like my thing. I'm not a fan of Aerosmith's movie power ballad either and it sold a bajillion copies.

It does however show that there is not a lot of musical crossover in Kris, Adam and Allison's styles. 19 was right. They may be compared by every media outlet in the nation but they will all appeal to different music buyers in their own right as well as having crossover appeal within their collective fanbases.

Did you ever see this one? I don't remember watching it.. although considering the amount of Kris Allen stuff I've watched it's probably not that surprising.

I actually saw that clip, but a long time ago. I tend to forget, myself, no matter how many times he says it, that he and Katy have only been married a year. And they've had to spend a huge amount of the year apart. But how lucky he must feel. I often think about this: that he has this thing (his marriage) that some of the others don't have, and it must make him feel secure. And he has to think about protecting this relationship. He can't just be involved in his career to the exclusion of everything else. It's a responsiblity that I'm pretty sure keeps him more grounded than some other guys his age in the music business.
