I want to see that chunky Brit. lady who can really sing.

She have a nervous breakdown??

Any chance she might come over???
She's putting out an album. No Idea if she'll perform. Rock Classics re-done I think.

Listening to an old VFTW interview with Montana! 'Course like all these Worster interviews it doesn't start until ten minutes in.

VFTW Radio Presents Montana Martin Iles (Canadian Idol 5) | Vote for the Worst

Someone on TWOP posted about ANS and how Kris might not play it acoustically at the Bosom thing (because of the piano) and then someone else posted his acoustic version from the home visit. So I've been reliving Acoustic ANS - so good.

For a minute I thought these were new videos. Got all excited, I thought Kris played at some California university, UCA. But anyhow I'm going to have a listen now.

Hey, they'll probably have a piano at that Bosom Ball, don't you think?

Turning Montana off now...

I haven't seen this for a while. The first time he ever did Heartless. Including the judges' comments. (Amazing how short the songs are on the show, when I see it now.)

Kris Allen - Heartless (by Kanye West) Video by ELL [♥] - MySpace Video

Oh, and see what I mean about he needs to be on TV? Stat!! Sell that tune, baby.

So I wonder what happened with Jason Castro's album? He's been working on it for so long. (I think.) I really wish Kris had a lot longer. But it is what it is.

Jumping in here very quickly because I have to work today (ugh) and have to go soon. I nearly joined the discussion on TWoP but don't have the time. Anyhow --
re LLWD and Kris singing it live, and how it's supposed to be an impossibility. I've read stuff where people said they heard it performed live by The Script. So it couldn't be all that hard to do, right? Other than the band doing some backup vocals, I don't see how they could do it and Kris supposedly can't.

So is missaddicted in Clifton Park now? I kind of lost track.
I think so.. She is squeeing as we type.

Me? Squee? No way!

OK, maybe a little.

Yes, I'm back and I'm dead tired. It was an eventful day yesterday! High and lows and rain and extreme heat and somewhat rude crowd and amazing rocking show and great meeting with fans!

Will post recap in a few...

Some thoughts on what you've posted while I was gone (and it took me forever to catch up, you guys were prolific as always!):

Time for Miracles: I only listened to the snippet once and I probably need to hear the whole song, but my first thought was: Coronation song. Céline Dion is good also SleepinIn. I guess I was expecting something else and not just that kind of cheesy power ballad. And the movie looks awful.

Carly Rae and girls on Idol: I've never really been a fan of girls either on Idol. Almost always guys. But I pretty much used to listen to male voices only. I've bought a lot of good stuff by female singers this year, so this is starting to change, but all those female singers that I like would never make it on Idol.

I think I would actually like Carly's music, but I just can't stand her whiny voice. Like immediate repulsion.

About Kris performing LLWD live, I don't see why it would be a problem. People think it might be a problem? Why?

About Castro's album: I think the label may be unsatisfied with the response for his single. Last night, we chatted with Ryan Star's keyboardist and she tolds us that getting his song(s) on the radio (the song Breathe being his current single) was really really hard. And the label keeps delaying the release of his full CD. And she told us that it was really the most important thing right now, to get his song on the radio. Maybe the same thing is happening with Castro. And I think both of them are actually with the same label, Atlantic. Well, Ryan is for sure, but I'm pretty sure that's where Jason is signed also.

Me again, with a recap this time! So, same thing as last week, I posted this recap elsewhere, and I added a few things so that it made sense to you. Original recap in italic.

I was so surprised to see him do that last night. Like, shocked. And then I got scared that he would not come out of the crowd, that they would eat him alive! Well, I was not really scared, but yeah, it was something to witness it there on the spot.

Here I'm talking about what happens starting around 3:20 in the video posted after this paragraph. David does a "Hotel California" interlude during his song Kiss On the Neck (which is, you know, a hot song), and when he did that yesterday he laid on the crowd, as if he was going to crowd surf. Well, he didn't do it, but I wasn't even expecting him to go in the crowd like that. I guess those fans were rewarded for standing in a line for hours in the rain and the humidity!

YouTube - David Cook- Kiss On The Neck (DAVID IN CROWD)- Clifton Park

I just got back home a couple hours ago and really I applaud all you who drive several hours to go to shows, because I'm dead. But it was SO worth it. I'm so glad I got to witness the Montréal show last week and the show last night, which I guess was probably more similar to what they've mostly been doing on tour.

Shout outs to normanthecat, vtlsc (and friend), Kvon, Zarita, ellemarie, AndreaK1041, and Sylvanaire (and friend), it was awesome meeting all of you, I feel privileged. Special thanks to normanthecat!

That was a great part of my evening, definitely. David has great fans!

So yesterday, on the way down, I managed not only to get the overzealous customs guard (who actually checked the truck of my rental car, which was not even big enough to smuggle David in!), but also to lose my ticket somewhere on the way to Clifton Park. I had it in the morning, but then at 4:30, it was gone. I had a slight moment of panic, thinking that I couldn't have come down all the way for nothing. I went to the box office, knocked on the door (thanks Zarita for your help!) and the guy of course told me that I had to contact Ticketmaster. But, in the box office room, Andy was there with another man that I also saw in Montréal last week. That man told the box-office guy that he had two tickets on "the list" and that he could reserve one for me. So the box office guy told me that I was on the “Sony list” and that I just had to show my I.D. at the door.

When we got to the doors, I gave them my I.D., but the girl couldn’t even find the “Sony list” and didn’t find my name either of course. I told her my whole story and she either thought that it was way too complicated or she took pity of me because she just wrote my name on her sheet and let me go in like that.

Anyway, I saw the show which was the most important thing. I thought it didn’t even show at all that David had been sick (or barely). He seemed really excited to be back on stage. The crowd was enthusiastic, but some were borderline rude. The venue was pretty crappy and depending on where you stood, you could have a partially obstructed view. And it was hot. I don’t know how the guys were even able to perform under the lights with that heat, because just standing there barely moving around made us all quite sweaty.

I’m glad there were a lot of differences in the setlist from last week, so that I was able to hear KOTN (Kiss On the Neck), BT (Breathe Tonight), Souvenir, Little Lies and BBS (Bar-ba-sol) live. I know they’ve played BBS everywhere except the two shows in Canada last week, but I still wanted to hear it live. The acapella part in Lie was a fail, some people were screaming through it. I’m sure some videos have already surfaced anyway!

Ryan was great again. David and most of the band were standing besides the stage for most of his act, and we could clearly see David talking in a microphone to Ryan for a big part of his set. I was amazed how Ryan could stay concentrated like that while David was saying stupid (probably) things in his ears during the songs. I know they’ve done it before, but watching it was entertaining. Maybe too entertaining as a part of the crowd wouldn’t concentrate on Ryan during his set and was only trying to get good videos/photos of David.

Well, I didn’t think I would even get to see them live, and now I have, twice, and I’m so thankful for it. I’ve had an amazing time at both shows and seeing them live just reinforced the idea of how good they all really are. Sorry for the probably way too long recap once again!

Aw, that sounds so fun missaddicted! I'm glad you got another great show. But OMG, about the lost ticket. I bet you were going crazy all day. I'm so glad you were able to get into the show anyway.

And she told us that it was really the most important thing right now, to get his song on the radio. Maybe the same thing is happening with Castro. And I think both of them are actually with the same label, Atlantic. Well, Ryan is for sure, but I'm pretty sure that's where Jason is signed also.

This is where I am with Kris. The radio play is so important. I don't care where he ends up on charts, as long as the single gets played on the radio. Because when you think about it, that's one of the only places new fans are going to stumble across it.

I bet you were going crazy all day.

Thankfully, I only realized that I had lost my ticket at 4:15, when I got into Clifton Park. And at 4:45, I was on the "Sony list". And then I had dinner with the other ladies I went to the show with and at 7, we were inside the venue. So the panic was short-lived. I don't know, I was panicking, but at the same time, I knew it would be OK. I couldn't bring myself to believe that I would have driven all that distance for nothing.

Oh, and between the two sets, they played really bad coutry covers of songs like Walk This Way and I Love Rock and Roll in the venue. It was awful. I was so ready for David to come in, if only because it meant that the music would stop!

Sounds like you had an adventure, missaddicted. So how was the crowd rude? You didn't elaborate much on that. Who were the guys in the box office you were talking about? What were the other DC fans like?

Jim's singing Party in the Usa was funny. (the lack of Kris.. *sniff*.. although if he'd put anymore Kris in there, people might cart him away)

Thanks for your reply on that other forum, SleepinIn. I couldn't agree more. Those people were getting on my nerves in a big way.

I was thinking of posting, myself, just to dispute that other post. I still can't really get why some people cannot believe that people (like me) voted for Kris in large numbers because we thought he was the best one there. Period. Why can't he have won because he was popular? It has to be because of Kradam fans, or because Matt stumbled, or for some other reason. I saw that concert and I can tell you when you see them all side by side no one holds a candle to Kris. Adam and even Danny have their points, but only Kris has it all.

Ha! You're welcome. I took my time wording that one. ;)

Seriously, Kris only got votes because he was a friend of Adam? No, just no. That is just ridiculous. Honestly people.

Yes, some people have this or that quality superior to him, but they're all narrow in one way or another. Kris is more broad. I can't really describe what I mean, but he does more things well and he's more musical, overall, than the rest. He has more positive qualities, overall. If there was a checklist, he'd posess every quality on that list. Nobody else does.
