Not sure I get what you mean.
I was being snarky. LOL. It seems RS is in love with Adam and EW is in love with Kris. I think they are owned by the same company.. so I was wondering if they fell in love by chance.. just being snarky, lol. I love the EW loves Kris. and RS was great to him too actually so my thesis doesn't really wash.

Are they promoting this much? He's the AI winner, people love the song, it's getting good reviews, etc. It's everything they could want. Shouldn't it be charting higher by now? Promotion alone ought to be able to push this thing up the charts higher than where it is now. Patience is okay, but I need to see some upward movement.
For me that is going to come with radio play and when they do their promo push. It's early. Seriously, no one I know is even aware that Adam's album is coming out. Amazing, but true. :)

Billy Bush is playing more of the Kris interview on his radio show tonight. (I think) I'll tape it..

Mix 100 (Mix100) on Twitter

I'll have to check out Faber Drives other stuff. I'm kinda addicted to the Get Up and Dance song now. G-Ge-t up and Dance.. Move ya body.. I'll have to look up their spins now, that I'm all into the radio spin count thing, lol. (CHUM played it 55 times last week)

Adam Ant? Adam Levine? Adam Cohen? Adam Faith? Who is this Adam of whom you speak? Is he known by only one name now? Like Cher, and Madonna? Or Prince?

Okay, that was lame. I keep forgetting RS and EW are intertwined. Interesting the only two magazines Adam has graced the comver of are those two.

ETA: covers.

My post just poofed.

Second try: I was in the drugstore today; while I was waiting for a prescription I looked at the magazines. Kris is still in the kid magazines. The pictures they use are always the same ones, publicity shots from AI.

Have you noticed, Kris really doesn't look like that any more? But what is it that's different? Lost weight? Different hair? His eyes look different, to me, now. I don't know. He looks different, that's all.

That's true. He does look different. Different hair? Different confidence level? Different top?

The kid magazine needs the other photo. lol

TWOP is driving me nuts. just sayin'. :p

Tell me what's bugging you. Get it off your chest. lol
Oh, gee. I don't know.. there was something.. could be the unrelenting nitpicking. Like holy crap. Seriously, though I can't delve to deeply into that kind of negativity. The song's been out a week.. relax.

Those numbers are interesting. I find that stuff sort of fascinating. It shows me that the single is doing really well right now, and I think they're right. The song is such that it probably would cross over to Christian stations, I could actually see Kris's music crossing over to Country stations, and that really has more to do with Kris, than the style of music. But, I think country fans would really like it too. Randy is right Kris does have a potpouri of styles.

I don't know, but I have a good feeling about the single.

If you look at who's playing it now.. there are a lot of places that aren't on the list that would totally play it. Then there's that whole vineyard thing, where the stations promoting it, HAVE to play it. And then, the little thing called promo. It has a good chance to do well.

Maybe you've gone to bed. ETA: Guess I spoke too soon!

Here's Jacob's new blog post. ETA: Watch the video first, it's more fun.

everything all of the time

Did you ever see Diary of A Hedley on MTV? From about two years ago. I was watching it tonight. Made me smile. And you get to see Jacob wearing a miniskirt.

Parts two and three are in the sidebar.

ETA: But first... just saying I'll respond to your post in my post after this one, here.

Nope, still here. :)

Watching. I remember that, didn't they have a promo for that where he sang Hedley Sucks. Jake was a bit more mature today on etalk.. lol.

The blog still confuses me. I'm thinking it's about him growing up a bit. Maybe meeting the Dalhi Lama.. but yeah, completely not sure about that.

I put some ETAs in my last post.

So now...

Oh, gee. I don't know.. there was something.. could be the unrelenting nitpicking. Like holy crap. Seriously, though I can't delve to deeply into that kind of negativity. The song's been out a week.. relax.

I'm getting really tired of the nitpicking, too. I mean, this is one of the reasons why I forced myself to stop reading 'that' blog -- though not the only one. I've been reading the Kris thread on TWoP the past couple of days to compensate, maybe. Tonight I went to KrisAllenation because I got sick of TWoP. I suppose I should start hanging out on the official site a bit. I'm just not an 'official' type of person, I guess. Or fan. I still need to think for myself. I still find being a fan a little embarrassing. I think a lot of Kris fans happen to be like me in that way.

One thing that annoyed me about TWoP was that "Kris has fans?" joke. Or whatever it is. I've also read that on that blog. I guess I have emotional investment because whenever I read that I feel irrationally pissed off. I'm getting tired of the forums pissing me off. It never used to happen.

I don't know if I like the crossing over. At this point. Because I wouldn't want him to start being identified as a Christian artist. Or country. Because that could happen. I mean, he could cross over a little too well. Actually do better on those stations than on pop stations. I know how you mean it, it's popularity, and record sales, and exposure. But it's also about image, and I hope he mainly has either mainstream pop or rock appeal, or indie appeal. Christian and/or country could possibly mess up how people perceive him. Since this is the image that already makes him unhip in the eyes of a lot of people. It's stupid, but that's how I see it. I guess I worry he could get stuck in one of those niches.

Oh, I still think it's going to do great. At least it should. If it doesn't, someone will have some splainin' to do, somewhere. If they can't sell Kris and that song, they can't sell much.

Yes, we are hidden. lmao. I don't like to be too official either, although sometimes I wonder if it wouldn't be a good idea to post over there.. it's just so hard to follow. *whine* *cry*

Now, "Kris has fans?" always cracks me up, because it is totally sarcastic. When that comes up, it comes up in relation to someone saying that Kris is going to have to worry about losing his fanbase - or whatever and being negative. Someone will post the "Kris has fans?" thing, because of course he has fans. He has 100,000 twitter followers and 200,000 facebook followers, and if he posts that he spilled ice in his drink twitter goes insane. He won. Of course he has fans.

OMG guys!!! I have to catch up on everything you've written, but I have to SQUEE first! I had an AMAZING night! Incredible! Met great Cook fans, Ryan Star was awesomely intense, the crowd was amazing and David and the band were in great form! Seriously, the whole thing filled my heart with glee. I totally forgot that I had been standing for hours while he and his band were playing.

Their regular drummer was not there, because of personal reasons. Who was filling in? The drummer from Our Lady Peace, nothing less! Since they tried not to give him too much to learn I guess, we had David singing alone with an acoustic guitar and then David, Andy and Neal acoustic. He hadn't really done that before in the tour and it was amazing!

Oh, and I got my ticket signed! After going for coffee with another fan and her husband who came from Vermont, I had 10 minutes until my bus came. The tour bus was still behind the venue and I heard screams. David was there signing autographs to a small crowd, so I gave him my ticket over a couple of heads and he signed it!

I'll write a more complete recap for another forum, I'll probably post it here afterwards.

All in all, an evening that I won't forget. And I already can't wait for next week!!

Yay, missaddicted! You saw DC up close and personal. The acoustic stuff sounds great. I would have enjoyed that myself. Can't wait for your recap.

SleepinIn, I revised my post a lot while you were responding to it. I have that little tendency, to do that...

EE!! That sounds so awesome. You got something really different. :)

ETA: How cool must it be for David to play with and be friends with Jeremy Taggart/Our Lady Peace? That he would come play with them is seriously awesome.

and a signed ticket! Yay!!!!

ETA: Just read the revised post ross. I know what you mean about wanting him to do better in the genre he wants to be in, rather than the crossover. I do too.

Yes, yay! Gosh, seriously, it's so hard to put into words how awesome this whole evening was...

It's funny because I was really calm when I gave him my ticket, but there were a few people between me and him. I hate when people scream when he's right there, he could have just gone on the bus and not come out and sign autographs! Under the rain! I was kind of lucky though, because I wasn't planning to go "stalk the buses", I just had time to kill before my bus was there. And there he was at that exact same time!

Not just that. I'm wary of the Christian and country fans sort of overtaking him. Maybe that's stupid, I don't know. Some of the stuff I've read online...I'm a little too tired to a say what I mean right now. Like some blogs that have sort of claimed him as a Christian artist, or just a Christain who happens to be an artist -- and they're rather off-putting, to me. It's a holier-than-thou attitude. I mean, there are some very cool supposedly Christian artists these days, like Mat Kearney or even the amazing Family Force 5, who I love. But I would rather Kris not be identified as anything. I think it might be harder for him to have mainstream success.

There's a guy on mj's blog who is always saying Kris chews tobacco (when he's chewing gum). To make Kris appear to be a hick, I guess. A lot of people are willing to see him that way, and I think, all he needs is a lot of popularity in country circles and that image will be complete. Maybe that's silly. I don't know.
